The Comanche will never be in PR because the RAH-66 has been cancelled for at least two years.ARMY RANGER wrote:I belive Project Reality done such a great job so far in realism but I also belive we should have a U.S. Army branch because they have better equipment than the Marines and get the job done
The only differences are manufacturer of the engines and software / hardware for UK-specific weapons systems that, like the helicopter, have yet to be fielded in combat. However, further conjecture may be posted in this thread.Army Musician wrote:The US AH-64D Apache Longbow is not as good as the British AH-Apache Mk1
The M60 has for the most part been phased out of US service by the M240 variants; you can sometimes see it in reserve, NG and other combat support/service support units. Also, mounting a 7.62mm GPMG on a vehicle as a primary weapon would be rather pathetic in the game, since it will likely appear as infantry-carried weapon. They might appear as secondary weapons, though.'[5NFSO wrote:Thunder']an M60 version aswell?
PS hasnt the US got a replacement for Cookie chip, some Digipat camo simular to the marines.
The "chocolate chip" desert camouflage has been retired since the early 1990s; three-color desert camouflage started being fielded during Operations Desert Shield / Desert Storm. Surplus stocks of the chocolate chip pattern BDUs have been used by training center opposing forces (OPFOR) and to help equip the new Iraqi Army. The Army has ditched both the woodland green pattern and three-color desert BDUs for the Army Combat Uniform, which is yet another digital camouflage, because God knows, we can't have just one camouflage pattern for every service.
The HMMWV in the game now is kind of a joke; it's modeled after a HMMWV weapons / TOW carrier variant, but the rear "clamshell" door (shown below) is taken off for troops to ride on it as if it were a flatbed. There are flatbed cargo/troop carrier variant hummers for that, but EA/DICE apparently did not want to make the effort to look for images them.
