and for some reason also it is the better idea if u wanna go automatic with the iron sights as it much more controlable especally on CQB maps

But do keep in mind the realistic need for scopes, i mean so what if its easier to shoot with the irons? its more of a challenge and you feel like one of those soldiers in the frontline, thats the reason why most people play PR. if you want fun, run, and gun accurate ironsights with no realism i would say go play BF2.....sorry if im a bit um...enthusiastic? or pushy? :-D

The ironsight version ingame is better IMO. I always use it, its somewhat extremely accurate in CQB aswell on longer distances. I have more control of the weapon and can put quick and accurate suppressing fire, as with SUSAT its harder because your screen is moving everywhere and its hard to go full auto.

For long ranges, i use my other squad member with me, cannot wait for 0.9 marksmans, thats gonna help much more than now :D

I never go for the Iron sight L85, as it owns in CQB even with SUSAT, and I have it on full auto most of the time, it owns Iron sights G3 on Asad Khal in CQB so eazy. The L85 is my favorite wep btw, luuuuuuuv it!!!!1

That's an L85A2 RAC, the carbine version developed for the Royal Armoured Corps for them to carry in their tanks. Most troops don't use foregrips.

P.S I do know they are Royal Marines - but it's mostly used by the Royal Armoured Corps.

From what I understand (having spoken to several Infantry officer currently serving) the L85A2 is getting new optics (ACOG) and some have been fitted with the railed forgrip, the frogrip is a replacement as needed program (as the rifles need replacement/repair) rather than the ACOG which was issued to most combat arm units in deployment.

No I am talking about the RAC Carbine. As a member of the Royal Armoured Corps methinks me knows.

It si slightly (SLIGHTLY) shorter than a standard L85A2 so therefore is a carbine - and also has rails on. it's called an L85 A2 RAC, originally designed for the Royal Armoured Corps it's now being distributed to some other poor buggers.

We all know what the L22A1 carbine is and the differences between that and the SA80a2, Mr Thompson has posted sources to back that up (kinda) that I can also perform with a quick google search to find it but I can't seem to find this 'RAC Carbine' you're on about. I can't see any info about any variants called the 'RAC Carbine' in the SA80 family.

The L22 is used by armoured crews of which the RAC will be part of, are you sure this 'RAC Carbine' isn't the same thing? In which case this:

Isn't an L22.

I'm no expert, I'm just seeking clarification...

EDIT: Ok, somehow you've ninja added to your post with more explanation but I still can't find info about it.

As an Infantry Support Plt Sgt and SAA Instructor with 16AA having done a few years myself, I'm telling you that you're wrong. That is the L85A2 with the new RIS (with foregrip come bipod) that replaces the previous green plastic front handgrip, along with the ACOG, currently deployed (since HERRICK 8 ) to all teeth arms units in theatre.

L22A1's barrel would end where the L85A2's new RIS system ends. There is no such weapon in any British Armoury that goes by the name, or indeed designation of ''L85A2 RAC".

Um..this isnt an arguement about links, or some gun pics.....its about the devs putting scopes to replace the irons...so will you devs at least think about it?

Mate, sorry to say it but Gaz is absolutely correct, heres what you are talking about:

Look at the difference in size, its much smaller than the one in the picture.
