Hehe, iirc me and my clan topped at 3. place on CB when BF2 was at its highest (2006/2007-ish) I played A LOT of clan matches to get to that sort of skill level, against pretty much every major clan (id be supprised if i havent played against you gazz) I really loved the "sport" in it.

Untill recently i hadent played VBF2 in a long time (when its not clanwars, PR is just so much better than VBF2) Id say having played PR dosent really help since the gameplay is just so different, although teamwork is always a good thing ;)

Well, severel different teams. The ones you might have met is "The Coalition" and "The Appostels". I also played a long time in Team Addicted. (All dainish teams, but doing quite well on the european scene 8-) ) I suppose you played in IGI?

Okay.. cant say i really remember them. The BF2 scene just had too many clans :D And really, we focused most of our competitive matches on the "Up-north" league. (All the best clans of northen europe played there) We really used CB mostly for practice matches for Up-N.

I wondered this too and yes we would, Pr hones instinct and intuition. as well as team work reflex's and tactic’s,

We would win simply because we are far more organised. But we probably never know because you never convince enough PR player’s to go back to Pr even for a single game.

I personally have had a lot of fun with both. There is a different feel for both but things learned in both can be used in both. If you have a good squad of people to play with you learn to support each other and move as a squad. That is the most important thing in both games.

The aircraft on there is EZ mode. I was on gulf of oman last night and god damn its much easier to get kills, refuel, take off, spawn faster. Although all the maps feel really really really small :P

I owned in the jet (su-34)

nah i sucked bigtime when i tried nilla for the 1st time in years when patch 5 came out.

I took a tank and started driving when a trans heli rammed me from nowere.

i got into a trans helo just for the pilot to jump out over a flag (forgot i had a chute ;p)and went down with the ship.

i found out every tactic good in PR can be counterd with MAOR NADE SPAM!!
only thing i could think to do for my team was be SL and hide in a good spot for ppl to spawn off me forgetting that UAV makes me show up on the enemy map like a xmas tree..

All in all i think no as we are more used to the way PR works and nilla encourages a no tactics aproche. If it was a nilla team vs PR we would lose but if it was in PR we would win by a discusting margin ;p

I played just before to see if I got any better on vanilla after playing PR for about 6 months, and found that I racked up lots of kills as a sniper because I have a far bigger patience span than normal players... And I tended not to shoot as soon as I get a target, I waited until they were in a prime position to kill like in PR. But I think if I was down assaulting my cautiousness would get me owned.

After one of those long walking all round the map PR games I enjoy a bit of VBF silliness.

When PR is good its very good, but sometimes when it doesn't gel, little co-ordination or TW, assets wasted I do get a little frustrated....

When the patch 1.5 was released and PR was frozen for 2 days because of no actually pr patch,
i decided to play pr, just to try out the changes of that "shitty" game.
I saw a couple PR players on vanilla servers

I opened a squad on a 64slot server and the surprise was big:

we had a full 6 man pr-players squad. Everyone got voip,
teamwork was almost the same like in PR. It was very funny.

That was epic. We were the best squad round for round, over and over again.

So I had never played vanilla with such teamorientated teamplayers before that day^^

i have played PR since .5 on and off... when i go back to vBF2 i find that i constantly die. and i think to my self, how the hell did that just happen!?

befor PR i really enjoyed vBF2 and was good at it. but now when i go back, its WAY TOO FAST for me and i just die instantly.

You see, in PR its easier to kill, not 3 shots in the head for a kill like VBF2 and 9 shots in the torso for kill.....you and i are more acustomed to PR phyics than the unrealistic VBF2 unfair amount of bullets for kills....

I think it all depends on how you define doing good on a server. I think a PR player would be able to stay alive longer. But vanilla players get better kill/death ratios, because they play as rambo. They don't care if they die, as long as they kill more then they get killed.
The reason PR works so well in teamwork and realism, is because players care more about the experience then stats.
I honestly think I could get more kills if I played solo, and sneaked in behind enemy lines, and just started shooting as many as possible in close range before I got killed. But that's not fun and not the way PR is supposed to be played.

Well i might consider myself a pro player in vanilla. I'v played some pretty high level clan matches and the guys on public servers seem eaven today to have no skill at all. :P So i didn't come PR to escape pwnage on vanilla i choose to play this mod becourse its simply better and deeper gaming experience than the original BF2 ever was for me.
