yes, those are the paths.

i just tried running the .exe in the pr mod folder itself and had the same problem. it's not the shortcut, it is the .exe itself. would downloading an old version of pr and placing that .exe in the folder fix it?

Those are both correct paths yes.

Most confusing.

Well bar remoting into your machine to check it out I am not sure what I can say. However its worth knowing that the peoples machines that I HAVE remoted into in the past all had something very wrong with their windows installation (at a system level) and the only solution was to reformat their drives and reinstall windows.

But before we go down such radical paths ... are you having any trouble with any other software ?

Are there any odd things that happen on your system sometimes ?

Do you have any other users of your machine other than you ?

It would be interesting to remote into your machines actually to see what the problem is, as I am creating the new pr.exe for 0.9 right at the moment and I am looking for ways to solve many of the errors that people are experiencing .... so that they dont have to in future. (but of course I have to know what those errors are first)

And no slick an old verision wouldn't be any better ... its go something to do with the CLR (for .NET) running on your system ... and I am afraid these problems will not be easy for you to diagnose on your own.

Do you both have TeamViewer ?

Yea I have Teamviewer, But I don't advise coming on it now as I am trying like hell to remove a vundo trojan without reformatting. The pr.exe problem happened before I got the virus.

Ok yea after running all this **** its gone, And the pr.exe is still not working so it wasn't the virus.

Ok so, after trying a bunch of different things on my friends pc, lots of it didnt seem to work and im not 100% sure of what seems to have fixed it but finally all I did was make absolute certain he installed in the reccommended install order, restarts and all. (and if a dev could so kindly post the correct install order)

Hard for me to believe it was that simple. But so far now, its been running for weeks w/o problems. Hope that helps.

Ok i have played pr 0.85 fine no problems and 0.86 no problems installed 0.87 and installed fine but when i click on a server(any server) it crashes straight to desktop. I have tried reinstalling, deleting directorys , my documents, stopping firewalls , defragmenting, downloading pr again , in fact ive lost count of the things ive tried, also i can play normal bf2 online with no problems and on pr can create a server and it works. Can anyone help and dont ask me for my operating system cause i havnt a clue

I had about the same problem. Reinstalled everything from scratch and it worked.

I try to start pr every time I start up my computer and for some reason it worked this time.

Ok i have reinstalled pr in correct order , pr loads fine but when i click on any server i get joining server message then it crashes to desktop. I can create a server and play bf2 online no problems. Also if i try running as administrator it says prexe has stopped working.Can any1 outthere help with no suggestions as i have run out of ideas

yep using pr icon. anyway i think im gettin somewhere ive got an error report it and going through it ive got a system.io.directorynot found wich i think is to do with net framework 3.5 so im gonna play with it and probably f?*! the computer totally

Launch Vanilla BF2 first and reclaim your profiles , then close down and launch PR.

Hi i might seem new, this being my first post but i aint. I search Pr forums all the time.
I also have this problem "Pr.exe has stopped working" it use to work before... I have done every possible thing to fix it from reinstalling to PB updates and whole bf2 reinstalls. I have done every possible thing!! and im actually posting because someone mension on this thread that this problem occur when they install COD4 modern warfare well guess what same thing happen here. After installin CoD4 i started to get the problems i dont know why but i cant seem to find any info on it and now. Bf2 seems to work fine maybe something to do with a certain .dll file.

And before you start asking if its in its proper place and my documents and profiles and all that sort of stuff...

I Have tried all suggested solution on this thread and many others!!!

For the love of god i just wanna scream at my squad mates again =3

yep ive tried launching bf2 then closing then launching pr and no joy i think ive tried everything now i havnt a clue what to do but i am considering using a sledghammer on it

Everytime I close PR I get the same error... It doesnt cause any problems so just deal with it saying pr.exe has stopped working
