Look, the SAW is a SUPPORT weapons, it is not designed for use in CQB. It is big and heavy, therefore it is not ideal for swinging around and facing a close range enemy. You should not be the first one around a corner with a SAW as your weapon, you should not be walking up on unsuspecting enemy, you should be covering the squad from the middle of the pack, and they protect you as much as they should be protecting the medic.
The SAW has such a problem at CQB IRL that the Marines are looking to replace it with a magazine fed auto rifle for use in urban areas such as most of Iraq. The new weapon is called the Infantry Automatic Rifle or IAR for short. It looks like and shoots like an M16/M4 (and I think its a really bad idea).
That said, the SAW just takes practice to use at close range, learn how to hip shoot, do not spray and pray (you'll get to ask the PR God why he didn't answer), shoot short bursts and AIM!

I always go undeployed unless I am defending or am covering for my squad. It makes it so that If i need to take a snap shot I can, and if I need to take another second to deploy the bi-pod to go deployed, so be it, better to take a little longer than to be killed cause you couldnt hit anything.

hey anyone else noticed that in the firing test videos for most of the weapons coming in 0.9 that deviation is really low?

Your confusing RL and in game
In game the SAW is a rape machine close range and actually
should be the first one in a building/corner.

IRL the SAW is very good for assaulting, anything that can fires 250 rounds full auto with good accuracy is good when assaulting. Hell we used M240 in urban assaults and that worked fine so i can't imagine that they have problem with the much lieghter Para, hell it only weighs 6 kilos and the operator don't even have to carry a AT4 with that, that means a soldier with a SAW is actually leighter then a typical soldier with an Assault rifle and a AT4.
So stop the talk about machinguns not being good in close combat.
Take it from an army that was first out with light machinguns on squad level.
Lone Sentry: In Brief (U.S. WWII Intelligence Bulletin, March 1945) . Under the headline, "THE LIGHT MACHINE GUN IN FOREST FIGHTING", "He remarks that practically all forest fighting is equivalent to an assault operation, ". Here the German offcier with 4 weeks of forest fighting says that the machinguns shold be the most forward weapons and that this goes for assaults to, thus it goes for urban assaults to.
"My company was making an attack in a wood where a Soviet force had dug itself in, in a number of positions prepared in depth. The first firing failed to make the opposition reveal itself. My company was baffled at being held up in this manner. The machine guns then were brought forward, and,
firing continuously from the hip, my company stormed in with spirit to take the first position. The fire forced the Russians to hit the ground, and gave them no opportunity to put down aimed defensive fire. Our casualties were practically all from mortar fire."
So excuse me if i belive my own 11 months military training and the words of a german ww2 officer with 4 weeks of forest fighting expericen instead of your unbased opinouns about the value of using a lmg with the assualt team.

What I've come up with in 2 minutes. In undeployed mode, Give the SAW mediocre Hip accuracy to allow quick ultra CQB fire up to 20 Meters. Allow it to zoom in to a lower Magnification (2x), with a Lower, faster settling, accuracy, and a much wider spread to provide limited suppression until you are able to get to a good spot to get deployed and deliver more accurate fire.
Agree
I insert/egress in undeployed, anytime I am oscar-mike, or in close urban settings. The SAW is my favorite wep hands down. OH, what joy it would be to have an unscoped version available!

When with your squad mates in CQB you can use it either as an assaulter or be in a cover group, for long range engagements do like I do in RL as commander of a Fire Support Group (FSG). I use my binos to adjust his fire watching his tracers, teamwork ftw.
The SAW/PKM isn't meant to be uber accurate at long range but is about throwing enough lead into a beaten zone where the enemy will be suppressed/fixed/denied/killed.
If you work closely with the binos guy when you crawl out of position to reload in cover he can put fire down too, the enemy may realise your MG isn't hitting them anymore and get cocky for you to re-emerge and hurt them.
Personally when I use the MG ingame I use 3 until I reach either a good cover spot then go 4, if in CQB 3 all the way. In defence 4.
