Removing points all together sounds a bit extreme... i would agree on more points for assisted kills and points for squadmembers in radius of eachother gaining points for eachothers actions, some situations they already do.
Maybe show personal k/d ratio's to that person only, and delay the amount of time it takes to register by another minute or three, elminate the scoreboard of individuals and only display the squad scoreboard...
i dunno, like someone else said, you shouldnt be playing for points anyway (even though i like them), you should be playing FTW.

Just played a round at TG and got best squad (most points with 5-men squad).
We didn't build a single FOB, we shoveled them though. Dedicated squads "built" that FOB. We put up some HMGs. We seize control of the city at Road to Kyonimaginy (something like dat), kill loads of enemies. We sticked togheter the whole round.
Other words, I used to disagree with the points, but it magically is balanced...
I also got "best squad" on Jabal Al Burj just for building and FOB at the DAM (as MEC) and killing 10 guys and blowing up enemy FOB.
For some reason, points are balanced. Somehow.

Sometimes, you don't have points at all with the squad bug.
Two times in a row, we were the best squad in points (no FOB build, don't like that kind of points) and D/K ratio but because of the squad bug the score was blank at the end of the map lol.
I agree with the removal of points
only to encourage squads (any type) to support their teams. For instance, a lot of APC/Tank squads are chasing enemies instead of covering their inf buddies (and yet, those who don't waste assets have a lot of driving-killing points and are still the first).
But hey... I won't lie by telling that everybody deep insight wants to be the first with the best score

. It's human after all...

You are just saying that because you had a good round. What about the dedicated transport pilot that does twenty insertions without getting killed? Is it fair that he is at the end of the list?
What about the good spotter that takes up a hiding position and pinpoints the enemy location and gives continous information to the whole team? What about the squadmember that gets ordered to advance ahead of the squad in order to provide recon, he looses a large amount of scores since he is not in the squadleader score radius.
All you have to do to get good scores is follow the squadleader, shovel unnecessary assets like badly placed hmg and wire and kill enemies with certain weapons. Sometimes scores rewards the good squad that places a nice hidden firebase in a strategic sound position and sometimes the score system rewards the squad that builds a huge firebase in a useless position, the game cant tell whats good or bad.
Once I was squadleader on mutthra and we had a good run, with plenty of kills and few deaths and we destroyed the only enemy firebase. A squadmember requested the sniper kit and went of by himself in the beginning of the game, and he killed three guys including a sniper with that rifle and he died two times himself during that round. Somehow he got the best score in the entire squad, I have no idea how.
There are so many things you can do that benefits the team but doesnt give you a good score, and some things you can do that gives way to much score. The score system is impossible to make fair and perfect for everyone, but saying that it is fine as it is is just plain wrong. No offence to the DEVS, you do your best in an engine limited environment. However, some small tweaks as rewarding number of spawns on a FOB and giving more scores to people who do succesfull logistics would be an improvement. Also, increasing the kill score delay with five minutes or just show it at the end of the round would stop me from using the counter to understand enemy movement.

Big no
the squadleader score radius
Didn't know about that

bad bad bad we all hate the sniper who does that.

As I used to say I think FOBs give a load of points. Needless to say I've seen lots of squads taking out like 6 caches because another squad did nothing but build FOBs. (IMO people should get point once someone spawn at their built FOB and not when they build it). True, I did have a good round, but this weird "point" balancing has something true to it... I just don't know what is it. Perfect? Definetively not. BTW transport squads DO get a lot of points if they don't die. One transport squad had, once, less then 500 poins diff (2000 to 2500) to the INF squad. well yeah.

It's really easy to get points just for building fob's and such. And by building i mean mostly shoveling them.'
Dunno if you still can but it was possible to drop the repair station from the logi truck near by fob which would start to "build" it up as well. Score was like 20 per two seconds or so for the repair stations life time.

PR isn't supposed to be about points...

tbh you get points for almost anything so i dont really pay much attention to points (exept squad points) and K-D ratio.

Agreed.
However PR is now more proportionally about teamwork.
Points [or being rewarded directly for an action] can directly motivate people to act in a certain way [in this instance a team].
Be it by building an FOB or helping shovel up some assets, points are the motivational key for a successful team in my opinion.
The amount you 'get' per action seems fairly balanced at the moment - I think giving additional points for assisted kills etc. would encourage Rambo tactics - however, successful crate drops, inserts/extracts by transport could do with some more 'point motivation' (For lack of a better phrase.)
After all - PR is a game and for those saying points mean nothing, you're kidding yourself.
You're not fighting in PR for anything other than that 'feel-good moment' at the end of a successful round. You're not fighting for your comrades, nor your life; you're 'fighting' for fun!

I really think the point system should be removed - people would then focus on what should be the proper objective, winning the round.
