Its actually quite fun, and you get better at it very quickly imo.
The more maps the better! I guess the amount of desert maps are influenced by the current and recent conflicts in the middle east and they will always be popular. But just having a quick look at the community maps section and the few sneak peeks from the DEV's blogs show that we have a veritable smorgasbord of landscapes in the works!
Congrats on the R-CON tags Rudd btw

Being an insurgent is awesome, get a decent squad together and ambush US convoys
yeah, thats fun to make those ambushes but theres very rare that you have any teamwork in ins side.
and some ins maps are too much samekind.
city in the middle and desert surrounding and bright sunny day.
fallujah,karbala,ramiel, al basrah.(if i remember right)
korengal and archer is different.
in archer you can make some good ambushes.
then add maybe kashan, ejod, jabal(good maps but atmosphere is just same)
but i hope that our mappers will make maps to bring some fresh air in the maps.
there are some but i dont know is those still in progress or cancelled or what:

https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f354-c ... ip-14.html
https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f354-c ... m-wip.html
and there are many more that would bring fresh feeling in the maps,if those mappers just can make it right.
but most i hope that brazilian faction gets their jungemaps done and norway gets there cold response.
those maps are fresh.

Can't wait till new maps come along, like the ones for IDF and CF. Or god damn Sangin, that's been in development for forever, can't wait to fly that Chinook.

Bellator wrote:Ejod is great generally. Most people haven't figured out that you have to be very quick to win the map. When you can force the enemy to fight in the open, they're finished: Or better yet, when you capture their main before they can prop up firebase and assume good defensive positions.
Isn't the point of PR (my assumption) to have long rounds? Isn't there a reason that the round lengths are 2 hours and onwards?
Ejod was ruined the instant it became a large flag, and the map was generally flawed from the start due to the desert areas. To be honest the only times it should be played is on the skirmish layer during scrims, and even then its city layout is questionable.
The fact that that (this applies to Qwai as well) a TOW is put up against copious amounts of armor ruins it.
It is such a huge gamble that if the TOW goes down, you can say bye bye to the US, not to mention that with all the open space and little cover SRAWs can't even get a proper shot on fast moving BTRs.
Isn't it being removed along with Kyongan and Sunset? I bloody well hope so...

Its hard when the night's maplist constitutes of Bi Ming, Seven Gates, Kyongan ni and the like.

If I had my way I would scratch the depressing MEC forces from PR, and changed them with the Iranians.

Yes, a reskin and a different flag on the map would massively boost their gameplay value.

Convoy=death trap if attack chopper/jet comes in. I have memories when my squad get busted by frogfoots rockets.

But then again, Always run with a Avenger. We had a 3 Ahbrams, 4 Bradley Squad, and both of the Havoks showed up. We had two Avengers with us and they ripped up the two Havoks with their .50s and Stingers.

full team convoys work if you have AA cover with you, and it doesn't hurt to have your air power circling high ahead, waiting for the convoy to be attacked, then they can swoop in and kill the attackers.
Convoys on fail in PR when your enemy is very good, or people misunderstand what a convoy does.
Watch a bad convoy in PR, when it gets fired upon you can see it panic like a school of fish, people start driving around, or bunching up when the correct response would have to been to keep your spacing and pump as much ammo at the contact as possible until it either dies, run away or is flanks by an element of the convoy.
Convoys take alot of effort ingame, but the benefits are huge if you do it right. A convoy is NOT just about having your vehicles in a line.

We don't have anyone for the voices, plus it's a bad political move.
