Anyway, the map was very interesting. Not very good, but interesting and I thought it was a good playtest for future snowmaps and/or terrain maps. It just has to be a bit more then 'just terrain'.

Also, due to the lack of assets, infantry was worth using. Unlike the other 4km maps Quinling, where assets are the main strike force and infantry have almost no place to be/go and Kashan, where you have an area dedicated for infantry, but gets raped by all tanks around them.

HAHA! wicked vid,

Not much to feed back on.

Not in the sense of it being to short of expierence, just the simple fact it is what it is.

Maps not as good as muttrah/Kashan but its on par with bi ming/ejod/mestia. I think it will work well with the new rally system aswell. The map is to big to rely on transport. You need to have 2 FOBs per flag. 1 defensive 1 forward outpost. Its not a tactic, its a natural criteria for all maps in PR when the new rally system comes in. if 1 is overrun spawning at main should be the last alternative. So evidently this map is a good starting point for what is soon to become the standard way to set out and set up. I like the way the attack choppers struggle to rape aswell due to the ammount of trees which block easy spotting from the air, it balances the chances of remaining unseen by such a powerful asset, and the rising mountains cover the choppers also from possible aa.

So I think you've stumbled across a gudd'un here. Just needs some time for 'joe public' to develop theyre style of play for it.

This afternoon I was in a 6-man squad using the 2 Jeeps to move around. This was great fun to do because you can quickly hide yourself behind the hills and move away in cover.

We soon found ourself in a cat-and-mouse game with an enemy APC. And he couldn't really get a clear shot on us. Finally a DANGER-CLOSE hellfire missile killed the APC :D

I liked the map but I found that the Chinese had a (somewhat) advantage in terms of momentum.

The Brits come with 1 Merlin and 2 Lynx. The Chinese 2 Z-9. This means whille the Chinese can go, set up a firebase and advance up a hill and fire upon the Brits...the Brits have to hold in a relatively open area (the trees really kill firebase placement) and get pwned.

Ask Rhino. :o ops: His squad owned mine.

lol, you guys where all out in the open and we had a good firing pos on you :D

But ye, the Brits actrually get 2 merlins, 1 is on a delay spawn I forgot to remove it but still even with that, the PLA do seem to surprising have somewhat of an advantage over the Brits from what I've seen and I dont think its because of assets since there AAV can't get anywhere fast while the brits can etc, think its more down to the terrain layout and how China seems to get a slight advantage with taking the Bravo pos. But saying that I have seen the brits wipe the floor with the PLA a few times :)

PR, the PLA have 2 Z-8s, this is a Z-9 ;)

Ahhh, for some reason I felt that the chinese trans chopper was a hell of a lot slower than the larger british chopper.

overall i think its brilliant, i dont think i'd produce anything that good in 4 months let alone 4 days.

all i'd ask to be added is: proper bases and extra layers, make 32 purely armour imo, maybe 1 or 2 trans helis. other smaller things are aesthetic details, like white camo nets, canvas etc.

yeh thats it, the whole nothing here cept whats there business is awesome.

had a good round of it tonight on TG, was gunning for soldier in an apache and after a **** start we started to pull it together and with some spot on lasing (and some naff lasing) we took out alot of APCs.

Quote of the map "Needs more detail"
was a random comment on mumble regards to the brit skins after match, then people started to take the biscuit and say other things didn't have enough detail, funny times

ye, the Z-8 is a bit slower than the merlin and a lot slower than the Lynx, but the Z-8 doesn't have any "Merlin lag" and is pretty easy to fly :)

EDIT: ye AM, I dont claim to be a good Texture artist as I know I'm not :D

All I did for the Brit skins was slap a flat white colour over them, then paint a tiny bit of dirt over them and that's pretty much it but its pretty accurate to there real snow camo which is all white but I'm sure someone else could do a better job, just we dont have many active texture artists right now with any free time so I had to do my best :)

i think its brilliant, i thoguht you'd just textured them with the texture from the ground, it works well enough, was just a funny quote from mumble.

Yea, we noticed in the 2nd round on the event game. I didn't see the whole thing, but the second Merlin spawned when our transport SQ was hanging out on the pad. Epic fail ensued - resulting in 3 choppers dead

IMO, this map is great as it is. Not a lot of armored assets, 1 attack chopper, and some transport choppers. Plenty of long range inf firefights. The large view distance makes it a great map for sniping if you know how to conceal yourself.

I've only played 25mins of it but I really like it.
It has a great sense of scale that I don't see in most other PR maps (or any BF2 map).
I'm not going to do any great game play judgement since I didn't play that long but the longer range fights felt more "right".
