'[R-DEV wrote:Ninja2dan;1224490']I think you are asking about the Bounding Overwatch? And I'm not aware of a website that explains the Battlebuddy system. Basically, every soldier is paired up with another soldier from their squad. The person you are paired up with will often depend on your jobs. Usually a Machine Gunner is paired up with a Rifleman for example, so they can share the load of ammo and equipment.

If you want a good reference for tactics, you can try finding an older copy of FM 7-8 in PDF format. I'm sure you can download it from somewhere, or read it on this site.
Bounding overwatch doesn't work for **** in PR because only the AR can consistantly engage and kill before someone either gets into cover or starts a luck out wait and shoot fight.

You never see good players using bounding overwatch, just as you never see good players using individual movement or contact drills that resemble anything even vaguely like the ones used in real life.

That is because when push comes to shove its still about reflexes ingame, real world tactics dont exactly translate (or at all) for ingame.

That's not it at all. It's because you can't reliably cover because weapons don't work properly.

With BF2's dodgy hitreg and shoddy deviation it's better just to move fast and rely on the fact that you won't expose yourself long enough to be killed. Fire lanes aren't nearly as scary in PR as they should be.

Truism, as mentioned, im going to train alot of this stuff with my fairly large clan, and im confident that ill learn the opposite of your oppinion. I agree that the weapons dont work the same and suppressive fire doesnt have the same effect. Training these things could easily give a new perspective to discipline ingame and awareness of the way you move and the way your members move. It could easily improve a squadleaders abilities aswell to control its members and vice versa. Where leapfrogging might not be as effective or needed as RL, its everything behind it thats useful.

Ive already done alot of movement techniques in public servers, with 2man battlebuddy teams and it works brilliantly in urban maps, aswell as basic formations works great in jungle.
