Everyone, Alex is being sarcastic, he's applying the same logic to APCs that is often applied to aircraft in PR.

APCs are used like tanks for multiple reasons:

They are often killed while trying to pick up a squad because the squad mounts up too slow.
They are often killed while moving from a safe location to pickup or drop off troops.
They have a lot of zoom and heavy weapons compared to normal infantry, so are effective at fire support.
Some have anti-armor capabilities and are quick compared to foot soldiers so are a better counter.
People don't request rides from them at all, instead choosing to walk instead of riding in the 'metal coffins'.
People wait for choppers. For the entire time it takes them to respawn in most cases...

Just because they can be killed doesn't mean they aren't effective fire support. If Kufrah had APCs that couldn't hurt each other (like the .50 cal Chinese vs the Stryker) they would be used as troop transport. Currently using them as troop transport just means they are more likely to die on most maps.

i never stated not to fight..you are suppose to support infantry as well as transport them. not just transport, work and give them cover fire.

From the post about they should be waiting for you to get picked up...The APC should already be with the Inf giving them covering fire.. its not all about kills guys, its about Teamwork and Realism..isn't that why we play PR?
