If you run away from a Grenade you will probably be killed. You go to ground. IF you're next to a wall or something the obviously you go behind it, but if there's no cover near you you dive to the floor.
Reason: Simple. if the grenade is next to you - it's going to go off in the next second or so. If you run then you are a really big target, if you go to the ground then alot less of the shrapnel will go near you.

Well, now hold on a minute.
Shooting/knifing the grenade for it to move is stupid, we all agree.
But, why not let grenades roll and bounce realistically, instead of the current "bounces at 3x earth's gravity, then just sits there upright until it explodes" system we have now?
I think it would be much cooler to have grenades roll around, but only because of being thrown, none of this shooting/knifing business.

that would be cool...but then that just makes this really an aesthetics change so it's not really necessary or worth the dev's time and effort. maybe in PR2

Yeah were talking about PR grenades. Ducking/going prone next to a grenade wont do jack, you see a nade, you run away.
Why would you try knifing a grenade anyways? By the time you pull the knife out and even get close it would just blow up in your face.

On the realm, knifing a grenade would result in epic failure. No Really.

It would be nifty if you could prone/squat over a grenade to take the blast & -hopefully- save your mates but I'm sure someone has suggested that before & for one reason or the other it has not been implemented.

This should be on the same shelf as the sharks with laser beams on their heads.

No, it wouldn't be just an aesthetics change.
You could roll a grenade down a hill and have it explode at the bottom.
If you foolishly tried to throw a grenade up a hill it would roll back down and kill you!
I think realistic rolling and bouncing of grenades would add a lot to the game.
