as I wrote, you should, because the rails eat up to many polygones, and since its not necessary having 2 different HK416 for two factionsH.sta wrote:not at all, it is a realism decision
the norwegian army doesn't have them there, then why should we?
1 the rails are still there, just under a rail cover(more polygons added)Maxfragg wrote:as I wrote, you should, because the rails eat up to many polygones, and since its not necessary having 2 different HK416 for two factions

the rails are NOT really modeled, and this will really look bad compared to the modeled rails on a M16 Flattop, those textured bars just look awefull imho.H.sta wrote:1 the rails are still there, just under a rail cover(more polygons added)
2 the poly count is well within exceptable levels with or without the covers.
3 The Hk416 the Dutch are using is different from the one we are using, it has a Eotech while the norwegian versions have aimpoints and magnifiers. and it will therefore be a different model either way.
3 realism is kind of important in a mod called Project Reality, especiallly when making it look real makes the gun look better
Whats the Tri-Count?[R-MOD]KP wrote:I've actually made a version with modelled rails if people are interested...
we are interested indeed[R-MOD]KP wrote:I've actually made a version with modelled rails if people are interested...
KP, can you do a eotech version aswell?[R-MOD]KP wrote:Tri count is actually not all that much higher, due to the way the rails are made. And it's obviously easy to slap on whatever accessories you want on it. I'll get the different versions uploaded today, and see if I can't get some renders up as well. IIRC, we should have the following versions:
HK416 Aimpoint
HK416 Aimpoint + 3x magnifier
HK416 Aimpoint + 3x magnifier + AG36 (AG416)
HK416 ACOG
All with vertical grip, and for the Rifleman Specialist maybe a flashlight?
