Don't forget if you don't have the budget you can always just tune down your settings a little. Espeacially as a newcomer just set em on low and worry about getting a hang of how things work. Just join up, find a Squad Leader who sounds like he knows what hes doing and most importantly; listen to him.

This is also important, as the response time for a corded mouse is much faster than a wireless mouse and make sure it is USB. USB is 25% faster than a PS/2 mouse. The USB data rate is 125 Hz compared to 100 Hz for PS/2. If you can, get a higher DPI mouse too, I am myself shopping right now for a high DPI gaming mouse, this can make a world of difference in how accurate you are.

The one that costs the most is usually good.

Jigsaw wrote:That will struggle with vanilla BF2 tbh let alone Project Reality, you will need to upgrade. Search around for a decent deal, this is still a 4 year old game so its not going to need a monster PC but to get it running smoothly on decent graphics settings you will need something reasonable.

My personal recommendation for PR would be:

2GHz dual core processor
2GB ram
8800 series gfx card or higher

That'll get you running on medium settings, you really don't wanna be playing on low. As a comparison on my system shown below I can run all settings on high with 60+fps (frames per second) on all maps.

2.6GHz Quad Core Intel Processor
4GB ram
9800gtx 512mb

As for other hardware you should get a corded keyboard and mouse. These items are very important in pc gaming due to the reaction times and the fact that batteries have issues with running empty at exactly the wrong moment.

Welcome to the forums, and to PC gaming in general. I hope you enjoy the experience.
Hey AgentCell, get one that is as good if not better than the one that Jigsaw posts here. The first recommendation will get you up in running, but to truly enjoy the game, go with something that at least matches if it doesn't exceed the second specs listed. However, always remember that the main factor is to go with the one you can afford! ;-) !

thanks for the help guys. One last very important thing, I heard rumors about converting a PS3 to a PC. I've been thinking about this stuff for while but never had the guts to do it because of fear of damaging my system. But its been confimred that it is safe and it works. The operating system would be UBUNTU operating system. Ubuntu is based on the Linux distribution. I've seen some pictures and videos on youtube.com "ubuntu on PS3". It really looks impressive and I can do it because I got the old PS3 version. Now my question is, can I install battlefield 2 in my PS3 using ubuntu? I asked that same question around youtube but no response yet. But if anyone knows the answer, reply asap if you can. Because if I can play battlefield 2 PC on my PS3 using ubuntu, I will step out of my house right now and buy battlefield 2 PC ;) .
