To avoid kicking:
  1. Don't be squad leader until you think you are aware of everything going on around. What happened and why it happened.
  2. DO NOT TRY to fly planes or choppers. You can even practice on local server for that.
  3. Don't go into useless whining dialogs with people who wants to burn you just because you make a little mistake. Believe me I NEVER saw a discussion ends well on screen.
  4. You made a mistake? Say sorry and go on gaming. Just learn from it enough
On the other hand to practice online I think best way is less populated servers. When server gets populated every kit, every vehicle and every mistake becomes more valuable. In the less populated servers you will certainly find better space to play with everything and larger margin to make mistakes. And of course the most important is as others say just join a squad-tell SL that you are new-and keep listening him.

See you in battlefield!

I usually play on RT - Reality Teamwork, the EU servers, from around 17-23 GMT. Any new players can join my squad and I will do my best to teach them anything they wanna know.
Add me on Xfire: wrestlersesf

you seem to have an open attitude and be willing to learn. so you will have no problem unless ppl are dicks in which case you shouldn't care. just follow what ppl have said, inform the SL that u are new but willing to follow orders to the letter and you'll be fine :)

For the choppers thingy... as you said you have read the manual.. so you should know that you need to wait for the chopper to warm up.
How to know if the chopper is warmed up?
From its sound!!
When there is no changes in the sound then its warmed up.

The Huey (In the pic below) is either bugged or something intended.. as it requires much more time to warm up, even if it sounded warmed up... wait another 30 seconds!

1 More thing!! Get Xfire if you dont have it, make it start up with Windows and Add me: Rudyeilabouni

Xfire is a very good program which allows you to do many things INGAME! like:
Chat, check the time, Check your FPS, take videos, Take Screenshots and Browse the internet!!! all in game!!
now if you were ever running into a bad embarrasing situation, you can ask me what to! and if you needed help in any matter just ask... I can play with you too and teach you things

Joining a clan or just playing with them in their vent/mumble/TS could really help you, also. Instead of just the SL you'd have a wealth of information from a whole clan of (most likely) active players.
I know a lot of clans will invite others into their vent, or you could ask a clan to 'mentor' you I suppose, and therefore let you into their vent.

(PS you can add me also, my xfire is inca1killa)
Good luck!

Just listen to whatever your Squad Leader says and you'll be fine. They have little patience for people acting like morons.

Add my XFire in my sig if you ever need help.

I've learned that before a long time ago, Never say you are an expert pilot just to get a chopper. You just end up getting nervous and making a Hugh mess. I learned from that one very quick.

I'll think about getting Xfire. I got my mic hooked up! I had a great game where everyone in my squad had mics. A lot more fun and a lot easier. The Heli crash was in-flight. I'm still not sure what exactly happened, but my theory is that I didn't see another friendly chopper and crashed into it while turning. This was supported by the evidence of another pilot yelling at me and me being kicked for asset waste soon thereafter. I think I'll train some more before I try to fly again. Thanks for the tips!

Check the map(minimap) while you fly too, it helps to know where other aircraft are in your surroundings. lol.
Be wary of checking the full map, lest you nose dive and die like a noob. Just be careful when you do it, and do it quick if you have too.

Okay, I'll try that. I'm still going to practice some more, though. I'm still really not sure if that's exactly what happened, though. I'm getting the hang of being infantry, so I'll stick with that for a while.

infantry's the way to go in PR, SURE its fun blowing shi* up in a plane or tanking, but nothing gets your heart pumping faster than knowing there's enemy infantry over that hill and possibly tanks with their co-axial guns watching you as you duck and run between trees, hopping into every hole you can find along the way. then as you crest the hill a grenade comes flying out of nowhere, out of instinct you duck behind a rock. although the grenade didn't kill anyone but the proceeding onslaught of automatic rifle fire comes ripping from the treeline and your stuck crying behind that rock as you watch your squad get cut down, dropping like flies...OH THE HORROR, OH THE HUMANITY!

Fun...

Um... okay?
Just kidding. Yeah, I'm staying infantry for now. Its pretty fun, and I'm getting better. I'm usually a terrible shot, but I think I've improved.

I'm really enjoying Mumble. I'm glad a lot of people use it. I had an odd match with 3 people including me in it. One of them was on my side. We used Mumble for peace talks. It didn't turn out very well.

The funniest moment I've had in mumble was when me and my squad we're clearing a building where the Insurgents were and we naded the **** out of it and thought we got everyone then I was like "I think we got them, move in" then all I herd was "I'm not dead B****!" in this very funny voice and then we got shot.

Lots of good mumble stories.

Ha! I can imagine someone doing that. Mumble adds so much to this game. Its awesome to walk by two guys in your base and hear them talking to each-other.

Really, really sorry about that. I tried to charge but for some reason it wasn't working. I suck at throwing grenades too so....
But seriously, couldn't he just have asked me to drop my kit? Why kill me?
