Again, this is pure nonsense. The enemy being able to hear me has nothing to do with realism, the realistic simulation of actual sound does, and mumble does not do that. Mumble is not realistic so just drop that argument people.space wrote:Mumble local is like talking in real life. A system where the enemy cant hear the enemy talking is unrealistic imo.
A 1 channel system simply dissuades people from using it, making it seem useless to newcomers. TS is just as good at providing communication between SLs, the entire point of using Mumble is the positional audio, which is rarely used because nobody wants to give information or their position away to the enemy. It actively punishes people for using it, there's just so many times I've killed up to a squad full of people because somebody whispered over mumble from behind 3-4 buildings or a whole mountain(Does that sound realistic?) and I heard a 'click' sound(Often accompanies the PTT), some low background noise, or just their voice broadcast loudly despite them whispering(Because mumble isn't realistic, in case you haven't noticed by now). There's a reason why everybody says 'shut up on mumble' when you're anywhere near a possible enemy location.
The only argument people can muster for the 1 channel system is "it's more realistic", which it isn't. The actual reason is simply that they want to gloat to people they've killed and act like little retards.
