i'd also like to know about the chinook and the M60 i've seen photos of them on the back ramp.

hey folks, I'm back, I just did the smoothing, a the UV map

I saw that topic about the mk19, and tried to use that colored checker, but I don't see how it helps to see the errors!?!
I mean, I tried hard to make the squares remain squares, but it never will be seamless, its impossible to make all lines be aligned, and that colored stuff makes my eye burn afater a few minutes...

I tried to increase the density around the first person view, and where I gonna use heavy normal maps and transparency, like in the forehand grip, bipod, stock and trigger

after several hours remaking the UVs, finally I could apply the normals to give a High poly feeling...

the tricount dropped by 400 from the last screen, Is now 6100, cause I removed some mirroring and tilling.
I'm still working on the UVs to make the ambient occlusion work properly...

Ps, oh **** I just realized that I forgot the ammo box!

no, this is the low poly with hand made normals.

So, the M60 model is complete or at least almost complete, right? What about the textures?

could we get a uv sheet pic please. kinda hard to see if it is optimized properly when we only see the model with a checker material

hm, else where, where else could a M60 be used?
i guess on US helicopters its been replaced with the M240B all over,so where could you use it

looks good :D what is the plan with the handle ?, it looks like you might have a bit of an obvious texture seam. but looking a pictures of the gun there is a normal map on the part just below it. but might be a good idea to connect it together.

Perhaps for the U.S. patrol boat, or as an addition to the PKM for the ARF/ Insurgents/ Taliban (?)
