Just because I'm not religious, does that mean I'm subject to squads being named that make fun of my nationality but religious folks get some kind of protection from such things?

Words don't mean a bloody thing to me. I'll admit I'd rather see squads named "SHAMWOW" over "JEWFUCK" [actual squad names I've seen], but honestly...Who cares?

I've never had a problem with the allah-ackbar, etc insurgent squads -> but the anti-jew ones are really offensive. It is possible to hard-code disallowed squad names, correct?Theres only a few racist terms you can put into a 4-6 digit name...

Why are people so easily offended? This is ridiculous, Nobody is forcing you to join squads with names that make you uncomfortable. I see nothing wrong with someone naming a squad LOLJEWS, HEBREWHAMMER, or ALLAH. Quit taking things so seriously, people need to realize this is just a game and nothing more. Its not like there are hategroups being founded inside PR because of these squad names...

I just find it funny that most people in Britain that complain about things to do with race or religion, for example 'golly-wogs' (no idea how to spell that) are usually old, white people that have nothing better to do other than complain about stuff.

Is anyone here that actually is Jewish offended by a squad that's called 'LOLJEW'?

I don't really care.

We all know Joker One is the only custom squadname that can be used.

As for the 'offensive' squad names, let the admins decide

squad names dont really matter to me but if they start shouting out racist stuff in the squad they wont last for long

People use stereotypical Islamic terms for their squads, too. As a muslim, the names and the roleplaying don't bother me a bit. I know that even when some gringo screams "Allah'u akbar!" after a successful RKG-3 attack, he's only excited that he got some kills. He's not making fun of me, he's not ignorant. He's just into what's going on. I've played alongside O:IF and O:EF vets on insurgent teams who will even get in on the Mujahid roleplay. To me, it's fun. Freedom of speech and expression will always breastfeed asshattery, but the overwhelming majority of people just want to have a good time.

I don't see a problem. There are these Allah and Jihad squads all the time and it seems fine for everyone including me. So squads with word "jew" in their names are alright too. Of course racist squad names aren't fun at all and should be removed, but "LOLJEW" seems just like a joke to me.

Try that squad name on RT and see how long you last. Theres a vast difference between a name like that, and a squad containing the word "Jew" when playing an IDF/HAMAS map.

Actually its the exact same thing. Names are only offensive to people if you chose to take offense. If a Jewish player takes offense at Jew then its offensive. Same if a person of the middle eastern persuasion takes offense at sandn****r. Though for these forums thats a bad word.

again those 'jews are special' talks...
i'd add that if jews will have special attitude, it wont make anyone like them more... respect them the way you respect yourself.

We'll agree to disagree on that. Its all about context. I'd have much more of a problem with someone using the squad name Jew, on say a USMC map than I would on a IDF/HAMAS map.

Using the squadname "Sandn********" is not acceptable in any context imo, and would earn an instant ban on RT.

I tend to agree with this post the most out of this thread..people are taking offense on behalf of other people without really bothering to ask if its considered a insult - I don't see whats insulting with squad name of LOLJEW..I find it immature and childish but nothing more.
