hehe, not really, I enjoy MEC more than most teams

When I first started I always called MEC mexicans! LOL

I would be like "hey which side are you on? Im on the mec the, you know, Mexicans"

MEC = Middle Easter Coalition?

I thought it stood for Middle Eastern Chinese. Oh no...

MEC's is a faction that could kick any other faction's *** because in most maps they are in they have a very good advantage (Ex: MECs got 4 bmp's and US got 3 Bradleys in Oil Field map)


Would hate to see MEC faction gets taken out because of the sake of "super realism"

I would like to see it broken up even if there are no new assets made just yet. Its actually extremely easy to make a faction, the hard part is making new custom assets for it. I say for now make it 3 different countries using whatever assets we have access to and as new assets are made they can be added in to the given maps...

These type of thread comes up ever few months. A search would have giving you many...many thread about this. As if PR created the MEC or something.

The Dev's stance on this is that MEC is a left over faction from BF2 that conveniently gives us a middle east like faction. We have started to replace it as you can see from the Iraq civilians, Taliban, IDF, Hamas. It just takes time to make a whole new faction. While a Iranian faction would be great its just not a high priority because MEC can cover many middle east region factions.

Currently more global factions are needed, along with factions that are totally left out that have a more current event related.

the way i see it, the MEC is just a non-specific army. since its made up, nobody really cares to make a political debate over, and we wont end up with a "Resident Evil 5" situation.

although i do belive that if the middle east did get their act together and did form the Middle Eastern Coalition, they would be a force to be reckoned with.

I do not understand why people say MEC can attack anyone while this is true so can other factions for example Russia Vs IDF and Canada vs Russia USA vs Russia

but for factions I really think Iran would be great because they develop a lot of their own military equipment
like they have an MBT called Zulfiqar I believe they have a weird mix i believe they use AH supercobras

If an Iranian faction were to be formed for PR the realistic enemy in event of conflict (outside of a conflict with the West) would probably be a Middle Eastern Arab Coalition.

I've just always imagined them as alliance between Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Oman, Jordan, Syria, and Palestine. Since the faction speaks arabic. Of course this is why I hate playing MEC maps, THEY DON'T EXIST. I wish they'd just change all MEC maps to insurgent maps or replace the name "MEC" with "Republican Guard" and just say it's the Iraqi army pre-invasion.

So, you'd like us to give the MEC AK47s, RPG7s, PKMs, RPKs, no body armor... Sounds alot like other factions that already exist.

The MEC is one of my favorite factions in PR as it gives the DEV team some creative breathing room -- we can include vehicles/weapons/assets that otherwise would not see the light of day.

MEC is one of the core souls of PR imo. IF MEC is lost so is some of the core. They are pretty unique.

I like MEC, they are a possibility one day, and if they existed in the near future they would certainly be well armed by oil revenues, as many Middle East militaries are.

Both Iran and Pakistan are users of G3 and MG3.

I'm still waiting for a MEC vs. Insurgent map.

Hey, as long as there is any kind of government in the way, the caliphate-seeking guys aren't going to be impressed with them, either.

I feel like MEC is a made up BF2 faction and it does not fit Project Reality since it is not real but i do have to agree that it gives breathing room

also if it is supposed to be armed with pretty modern stuff then why do they use an BTR-60 instead of say BTR-80 , BTR-90, sau arabian and egyptian Al-FAhd, BTR-3 and etc.
