How do you use m113 in a good way? Solely as a transport? The gunner in a m113 is the soon-to-be-deadest guy in the team.

You can advance BEHIND the m113, use it as cover, like in ww2...

in way it kind of feels like strike at karkand you cant take the mansion without alot of your team dying and squad

It's a nice map but making the hill not out of bounds is a good idea which i support, i'm not for removing the hill just make a entrance or add some stones where the grapling hook can reach.

disagree. i see teamwork on this map, lots of teamwork. but when a frontline is limited to 200m there is only so much you can do. tard rush head on with the enemy intill game ends.
Asad now:
IDF spawn and rush towards mansion.
Hamas spawn and build hideout behind mansion.
IDF are forces into a 200m frontline with Hamas and the spam begins.
rinse and repeat
game over.
Yes "teamwork" happens (mainly because the front line is 200m wide, so you cant not work as a "team") but instead of going head on with the enemy id like to flank, but i cant. restricting the players movement is now what PR is about.

Totally agree with Gaz on this, I've only played Asad twice though in the new release.
As is now the layout of the map isn't very challenging for either party on the first flag. The proposed change of map, allowing the north side to be opened is a good and easy change. The hills there should be impassable to vehicles but not infantry so you can actually get some crossfire going. I doubt the mapper intended the whole of the battle to be that mansion.

It honestly feels like playing a skirmish map with 64 people, but with even less options when it comes to flanking as Gaz said. I can understand if the map is supposed to be a linear push but it honestly does not work. I think I have seen 2 games where IDF got the mansion, but never kept it more than 5 mins.
It seems like another map where flags are essentially useless, IDF mares well just sit in their main and defend to win the round.
Old layout was one of my favourite maps for the close quarters combat, maybe making mansion + southern flag (village?) cappable for IDF .

IE, not rush to mansion with it and get blown up by a guy with an rpg(usually me) straight away. Advance with infantry.
Anyway, I like the way it is, I wouldn't like to see it changed, the old Asad Khal was boring as anything. The maps so small it's pretty much built for focused CQB.

yes it is build for CQB, and opening up the map will not lose that. as tim270 said its basicly a skirmish map with 32v32. bad for PR gameplay.

What if they opened up two flags? It would spread out Hamas a bit and make it easier for the IDF.

Or replace the notrth out of bounds area with a static mine, so there is tunnels...or somehing like that, but even without that, its cool as it is.

i dont really care what they do, as long as im not forced into a 200m frontline. 1km maps are small, why restrict players even more than they should?

I repeat my suggestion from the other Asad Khal thread:
I'd suggest to give the HAMAS all city flags and make the mansion flag white from the beginning, to bring back the very good urban firefights you can experience on this map. And raise the tickets for both factions for longer rounds.

bump as i was hoping for a change to asad in .91, but well yeah.... as i said, 1km maps are small and spammy anyway, why restrict players to a 200m frontline? bad gameplay.

I would agree that very small amounts of the map are used in pub play, using the old Brit Vs Mec flags might be preferable, it was a good idea to try how it was done in .9, however I think pub play has proved it doesn't give much variety.

New and old setup are different, other ppl likes new one other old one, but its possible to add em both at the same time and might just do that for next version =) More layers/flag setups there is, more variety map can offer =) Go ahead and talk what kind of flag setup would be most interesting to try =)

Well , making mansion white at the start rather than have hamas spawn there would be a good start, but IMO removing the out of bounds hill, see:

Would be best . would open up the front and allow you to flank mansion.

Agreed, however there would have to be bridges moving across to that region that would now be fields, to allow supply trucks to access it for a firebase.
Plus trees and hills/buildings for cover. I do support this idea though, or simply bringing back the cap system on the previous version with MEC/British (IDF start off with Mansion and Hamas at the far north village)

Can we please have an insurgency version of this map created? It would be a spectacular map for insurgency and makes more sense than Iron Ridge ins imo.

I liked the old version, aswell with IDF V Hamas the IDF would have the low ground but their sighted weapons would make up for it?
If not Gazzthompsons idea would be good, depends if the hill is mapped textured or whatever it's called.
