walk around and spy?

I think it will be too overpowered he will look for cashes then once a insurgent spots him insurgent will try to kill him or arrest him? then al the collaborator has to do is run to the nearest squad and he is protected.
*cough*civilian*cough*

I like this idea, any dev response?

They can be disguised as collaborators and they run around informing to the BluFor?
what you just said is exactly like my suggesiton here lol

As he would be dressed as a civi, he wouldn't be able to shoot him anyways.

I don't think too many insurgents currently use name tags to identify each other unless the is target very far away. If this idea is implemented, they just might start to.

He may at least take a field dressing with him, can't he, maybe along with a knife or pistol?
Yah, he is always carrying a gun

Yeah I think it might be kind of unorthodox concerning the DEVs mission, however, we must remember, as ComradeHX said, battles are normally bigger than platoon-sized operations. Meaning, why not can we make an exception for one or two guys?

This would be really interesting as Taliban, too.

To perhaps change the flavor of this thread a little as the DEVs, whom I have no war against, are not interested in including Special Forces: The original idea I had was not SF at all.

It was supposed to be a local that has volunteered services to the BLUFOR. SF naturally makes it a lot more flexible. I was interested in one or two locked kits (in the same way sniper or HAT kits are rare) which made someone play the part of a cooperative civilian, hence the name "Translator". That is it.

There was a parallel thread placed below, so people can see what ideas were suggested at the time:

Although I do not agree with some of the ideas in the above thread, it seems to have made more progress than this one.

The "no tags" idea sounds like fun and could just bump the complexity of the game up a bit (I kinda like the idea too). Just remember that without it, people who are new to the game will incessantly kill us by accident. Without Mumble being properly used by all players, it will be difficult to identify who is who and friendly fire fatalities will begin to rise. Chat takes to long to report/request timely information.

Yeah, that's why I like new players to be infantryman or medics (I teach them how to use it), and then teach them the enemies and stuff. It would be REALLY nice though if, at the map loading screen, pictures of soldiers were shown (ex. US soldier in BDU, MEC soldier in Desert Camo in Kashan Desert. Insurgency wouldn't be needed though. Perhaps a reminder "ONLY ENGAGE THREATENING PERSONNEL"!) Also, you always have the map. It just takes a couple of rounds for a new player to learn how to use it.

Also, yeah, my bad, I was the one that drifted apart when commenting the Special Forces guys. As he will be just a BLUFOR sympathizer, I would like to see no guns with him, then. Maybe a couple of field dressings, and the arms. Maybe a radio?
