In Fh2 you can remove mines with your wrench after you found them with a minesweeper. It is not done often because it takes awhile and the mines are often covered by the enemy, but in PR it might work out better.

Ts4ever, whats this minesweeper you speak of? I've not played FH2 in a year or so

I'm not a coder, but here is how I think it works: When you look at a mine with the minesweeper equipped, it makes a buzzing sound and the crosshair changes. This is because the mines is "damaged". To clear it you have to repair it. Once it is at 100 percent health it vanishes. The drawback is of course that the minesweeper also buzzes when you point it at damaged vehicles, but who would do that ingame anyway?

A new way for insurgents to get an engineer kit , lay a mine where ppl COULD see it then an IED next to it => an engineer comes to disarm the mine u blow him up there you go an engineer kit is waiting for you . you wonder what they do to an engineer kit ? making bomb bikes and bomb cars , loosing an engineer kit to insurgents is worst than loosing a HAT kit .

I saw a half *** EOD team on the hardcore server the other day.
They were waiting for mines to be reported in, and while they were waiting they were doing donuts in a humvee. They had One combat engineer in there squad and another squad offered them the second combat engineer kit and they denied it.
These EOD teams could work if The whole team were moving as one unit instead of all squads being all over the map all the time.
I could easily see the EOD team leading the convoy and clearing mines in the convoys path.
Was that the same hummvee on Ramiel that got blown back to Allah by my pipebombs?

I agree with this, make one tool so the engineer can be able to disarm explosives.
Or maybe make an own kit.
With:
-.Bomb suit.
-.Wire cutter.
-.Light explosive, little C4, or the M113.
-.Sidearm,pistol.
-.Knife.
-.Smoke.
-.Incidiary.

I would love having the option to do EOD. It is always fun trying to improvise, but it would be even better if there was a mode made just for it.

one time on Ramiel me and my mate had an EOD squad, buzzin around in a humvee lookin for the shit. it worked a couple of times but then it got a bit boring haha
but still, it felt good to be disarming an IED, all the time knowing whether or not the fella that put it there is watching you...

@TheOldBreed
How do you disarm IEDs? I know you can do it on mines, but IEDs and Grenade Traps i dont think work.

Works on mines only afaik.
Not absolutely sure about nade traps but there were no changes about them and last time I tried to disarm one it didn't work. I'm absolutey sure that ieds cannot be disarmed with a wrench.

If you added this in, then Insurgents would lay far more mines, which would be more realistic, I think it's a win win.

I know. Maybe add a Wire cutter to remove IEDs,C4s and Nade traps.

Im pretty sure you cant remove IED's and even if you could 90% of the time you would just get blown up. coupled with the fact we only have 32 players per side we really cant afford to lose even more "frontline" soldiers.

But, its like IRL, when they have placed remoted-IEDs, and somene goes to defuse them, they know the can be blown up.
In game: But sometimes, people goes for vehicles or group of people and not one singel guy going to defuse it.

It would be nice if rifleman specialist or another kit got wire cutters to disarm nade traps (Same way as FH2, you 'heal' it to 100 HP and then it goes). I cant really foresee an actual EOD team/kit working as intended in PR.

makes no sense, why wait for a bigger target when some one is going to defuse it so you cant even use it on a bigger target? its pointless , 95%~ of the time u'd just be blown up.
