I thought the logi truck and hummer issue was as simple as dont drive over the bloddy things but thats to much ask.

I say that because I myself have never had a hummer/truck i was driving blown up by a IED.

Find 1 ammo box, you get about 6-7 IED's from it.

YOu can place up to.. 10 IED's? You can cripple a stryker methinks with 1 in the old version. Stack two on top of each other gives you double the damage. So you can kill a stryker sneakier then using a mine. You could even put it on the side of a building.

I stand by my statement. You get a good squad in the old versions and they'll have sappers putting IED's everywhere and watching it like a hawk. You'll see so many more sappers in old versions then in the current version.

ahhaha hilarious title AHHAAH
well anyways, yeah I agree, 2 IEDs really need to be implemented...
but really, are they weaker now? Last time I used an IED, i demolished a Humvee,
mind you this was before the patch :P

boilerrat remember you and me were on Chicago hardcore ? we were all over the map ( Albashra i think , check spelling ) . good time mining roads , laughed hard when we got kills ( love the screen shaking thing when some1 runs over your mine :d ) but again 4 markers are not enough , 10 is a good number .

So your saying nails and gunpowder did that to an armored vehicle?

RG-31 didn't completely get destroyed by the IED FYI. Half of it was destroyed. Since individual-systems damage can't be implemented, Half of it's health is taken away.

And your pictures must be of larger explosives. Pipe bomb =/= Landmine.

Also, it's a gameplay change as well. As like I said in previous posts, it was overused, as you can tell with the obvious notion of less people grabbing sappers and more people actually being in the fight.

All of the pictures are of partially damaged or 1 wheel taken off, not the whole vehicle exploding into dust.

And again: It's a gameplay change. The same reason why there aren't nukes, Trans helis with hydras, and Javalins.

Those humvees look like they are missing more than a wheel.

But if you note, that the seats etc where the crew would be sitting are unharmed, meanng that it disables the vehicle, but doesn't (usually) harm the crew.

Prove that it is from a small IED explosion. The current IEDs were changed according to MA suggestions, not on a whim.

With the planning of blowing up an armored vehicle, why would an insurgent bother with a pipebomb that small?

Probably because the pipebomb IEDs are not an anti-vehicle weapon. IED does not make AT weapon. I see why the devs changed them, I mean, a fully armoured HMMWV isn't going to be blown to shreds from an explosive charge that probably packs a little bit more punch than a hand grenade.

I've played round with the pipebombs and found that, since they stick to statics, you can put them in some inventive places, such as a tire well on a car thats sitting in a chokepoint.

Though I do agree that artillery IEDs need to be more common. Possibly with the Taliban and Hamas, give the AP kit the pipebombs as well as the claymore and give the Combat Engi kit an artillery IED instead of the pipebombs.

So the pipebomb was made into a remote grenade?

So use more or use bigger ones.

You can still damage and kill vehicles it just takes more than just what you carry on you.

Means everyone would still be alive or partially injured. And I said Partially damaged as well as a wheel taken off. An IED would, from your pictures, partially damage it. Not blow it up totally and mutilate everything inside.

And I would have to agree with Celestial1 and ZephyrDark.

You should think Gameplay wise as well as realism, not just "I want". Gameplay wise it was too powerful, so they toned it down. Similar like how they added deviation to weapons so firefights would be, realisticly, longer.

Realism wise, 1 IED won't blow up the humvee into tiny pieces and kill everyone inside. However it does damage it a lot, It's not like it's brushed off. Get more then 1 from a cache or use supply technicals for mobile ammo. Blaming it on other players isn't the best way to make your post gameplay feasable. If your having problems with players, you should find a seperate server.

Also, Basically your suggestion is "I like using IED's but they aren't powerful enough." It basically is a remote grenade. Mines are used for AT.

They most likely survived, its always a possibility that it had enough energy to kill them.
