Good idea solo. It may work for some levels, with some vehicles. BTW, you don't need any AI do to this... you just need an object that is coded to fly in whatever path, then have an abrams appear in it a t the right time so the physics get it out of the plane.

don't know if an abrams would work, but other vehicles would.

IDEA! Instead of insta respawns, link more than just ammo & health crates to what the commander can drop.

how about he can call in reinforcements, and they come in whatever form they come in? that might be easier to code, and give the commander more control over the battle.

Thats a rather interesting idea...

What if the Commander could also drop vehicles, instead of just ammunition crates and artillery strikes?

Of course, you could never paradrop a 70-ton Abrams.. maybe you could give the Commander the ability to make Abrams and other tanks appear. One click and an Abrams appears wherever he specifies.

But yeah I'd atleast like to see ability to drop Humvees and other air-droppable vehicles.

well, maybe not just show up. u could make a train drive from the edge of the map on the rail to where ever you'ld want it to stop on the rails. of course the opfor could destroy it on it's journey.

I like the staging area idea and as far as repairs go how about designated repair bays for different vehicles with a sort of AI pit crew? maybe too much lag but it would be something to see.

that would be really cool. i think the commander should have control over the spawning of vehicles, at the staging area thats jsut such a cool concept.

Oops! This is where I meant to put this:

You don't even need to worry about AI to do this, if you can just figure out how to make the vehicle spawn mid air with an open chute. This way you just throw in some sound fx as if that c130 were flying by overhead.

That would implement a lot more teamwork and sounds ver cool. A tank or APC is not destroyed but immobilized and can be repaired again by an Engineer. Abandoned armor after a firefight can be repaired by the remaining team present or during a battle and so on.. But! They can only be repaired 3 times or so, after that they will go Boom!

well, i think theres a point where it can no longer be repaired, if a tanks transmission or something is totally destroyed then a guy with a wrench isnt going to be able to fix it. i think it would be better to have some sort of support vehicle tow it back or have it just sit there as a destroyed hulk and have some sort of creative and realistic respawn at the main base
