The overheat values should just go by what the army's doctrine is for number of rounds fired before barrel change, and the time needed to go back to not heated at all should be about 1.5-2x as long as the average time to change a barrel

Well first if a jeep has a m249 then that would loose in the technical wars. now I would rather have the old .50 cal technical MG cause that thing is dead accurate and powerful at range.

M249 is a 5.56x45 or your common .22 rifle bullet.

I really think they are M240's on those jeeps. M249's, what were they thinking?

you are totaly right, the current mounted MG on the CF jeeps is a placeholder for the M240/C6/FN MAG

The difference between Vehicle weapons and hand-held weapons is that vehicle weapons have no recoil and little deviation, even when moving. I always thought that the overheat was for balance reasons, and to encourage proper usage of the weapon-- Using the weapon in short, accurate bursts.

if they put a 240m on the jeep's, probably be best to put a zoom or a scope as well, problem i have with the standard 249 on the jeep is it really only good as a defensive weapon, with out the zoom you can't get a good view of what your shotting at on archer which is not ideal, and the fact your going to have too get closer then is safe, which will put you at risk to snipers.

PS. a defencive machine gun should i think be placed on the back of lorry's( not unheard off) .

I don't get why people think everything has to be balanced or its overpowered, yes the gun would be like a mobile, zero deviation auto-rifle, but at the same time it's attached to a vehicle that you can smack with a rocket and cause burn in 1 hit and if that wepon wasn't more powerful IRL, then why would they even have weapons mounted on jeeps? It pretty simple to realize that a vehicle mounted with a weapon is probable going to be better than the hand held version except for the mobility.

my big question is why the the Canadian G-Wagon has a C9 pintle-mounted as it's main weapon?
shouldn't it have C6 GPMG which is 7.62 NATO caliber? i mean thats what the real life g-wagons mount, so shouldn't it be like that in PR? my biggest problem with the C9 mount is that it's o under powered as a roof mount gun, especially when engaging techies or other vehicles that are packing 7.62, .50 or larger weapons.
