I dunno. The ideas sound good. But it seems all too impossible to code. And the Spotter has been suggested waaaaay too many times. Spotter=Officer/Rifleman Specialist kit.

make it a medium machine gun (like the m240) or the "general purpose" machine gun(British gpmg), NOT a heavy machine gun. hmg is too heavy for man two-man kit. hmg would need probably need four or more people: 2 or 3 for ammo, 2 for the m2 .50, another 2 for the tripod (not bipod)

I might be wrong but I think all HMG's, M2's, Dashikas and ect are operated by 2 men. I think its only in war times, when resources are limited, that they are to use 3 men for a 2 strong men job.

The Tripod only weights 40 pounds or so, The m2 weights 80 pounds.

80 pounds is pretty much the amount of gear the average soldier as to carry around. I'm pretty skinny imo and I'd be able to carry it alone for a while. When I was a kiddo I'd lift 60 pound boxes all day at work. It's not that heavy.

Heavy would be like 100 lbs + Now that most people would have a hard time carrying. When you get over the 60-80-100 lbs limit, depending on people, All extra pounds feel 2-3 times more heavier.

I agree tho the M240 or GPMG would be great single kit add-ons :) Always wanted to get a GPMG in PR, especially for the Canadians.

interesting concept, wouldn't the engine limit such things?

Well I'd definitely love a few DEVs to chime in and let us know if the concept interest them or if it can be done at all :)

In FH2 you basically place a static weapon by "shooting" the undeployed HMG/Mortar. Once it is on the ground you enter it and shoot. When you leave it again, the deployed weapon vanishes and you can place it again. However, there is one unfixable bug associated with this system: Everytime you place the heavy weapon again, the ammo is full. This is not that much of a problem in Fh2, where you usually die very quickly before spending all ammo ( especially because once you make a few kills with a static MG, every artillery gun on the map is zeroed in on you), but in PR this would go against the design philosophy. On top of that, the static weapons replenish ammunition: This is needed to give you another "instance" of the weapon after leaving the old one. This too could lead to problems with PR's supply system.

well i just like the second idea but very much

and we would loose a lots of people with it just imagine....

Officer
Medic
Rifleman
Specialist ( or one more rifleman)
MORTAR guy 1
MORTAR guy 2

:S and that means we would loose 12 men who is (having fun or enjoying the game )

12 people based on that fact is the team has 6 full squads so 36 people in squads and then 6*2=12 ( NICE MATH  but what ever ) so.... that's not good :(

Or Jhonny did you think that it would be limited like only 3 or 4 mortars / team ?

I was thinking like 1 portable HMG and 1 mortar MAX per team.

And the mortar team would be in the mortar/artillery squad, not running around looking for caches with medic and SL.. lol. As for the HMG well its self explanatory , It's for siege combat, we're the team holds a side of the map or is fighting a stronghold.

HMG team would be very useful inside a combat squad in those circumstances. It would be the squad's best asset.

Imagine also the customizable defenses for main bases or firebases. Maps like Lashkar, Korengal. A custom HMG position followed by mortar fire would greatly turn the tables.

FH2's artillery system is really epic. I'd love to see that in PR, but obviously modern.

Just add a Need Artillery Support or something like that to the Com rose. That sets a marker, then poon it with arty =)

i would love to see some mortars ingame, that would surely add to the tactics used, and teamplay between arty squad and the rest of the team

maybe mount the mortar on the jeep, and make it require a driver and a gunner to move it around. for example, you cant jump on the gunner seat (mortar) unless there is a driver in the vehicle. just like the APCs. once the gunners weapon warms up, the driver can get out and protect the asset

The beauty of a 2 men kit system is that it doesnt stop at mortars, but a whole new array of weapon systems.

Systems that are very realistic and often used, like, Recoiless AT guns (talibans and chechens), Mortars of all sizes, Grad Rocket ramps (iraq & taliban), HMG's, AA-HMGs, Some HAT systems like Milan or Kornet.

The list goes on and on, it stops we're we stop thinking.

grad rockets and mortars would be sweet I think the front line systems like HMGs might need cover maybe deployable sandbags that vanish after a certain ammount of damage

TOW should be this, instead of insta-spawn and use.

i dont think TOW is insta spawn you have to deploy it first then there is a warm up timer like in AA me thinks

Yeah HMGs should be used on situations with high enemy concentration but with no time or material to build a FOB...

Sorry guys, but multiple resuggestions here. And I don't think the DEVs are interested in using even more of our limited number of players on what is pretty much the same task.

Locked.
