as a helo mechanic i will tell you this is not possible with any helo without suffering great damage, and more than likely not be able to fly much after that event. i dont care what the blade is made of either. most of you cant hardly imagine how much a helo vibrates in normal operation, so when something hits the blade this reaaaaaally fucks up the system bad and isnt something you fly away with. as a matter of fact a lot of blades are designed to shear off when damaged to reduce collateral damage on the rest of the rotor head.

the huey could get away with cutting a certain thickness of branch. i cant remember how much exactly but i have heard this may times from alot of acounts including chicken hawk.
