First post, just because I have personal experience with this happening to me.
On most servers, all INS vehicles (including gary) are unclaimable, so even if you only exit the vehicle for a second, anyone else can take it and do what they wish. I was playing on Karbala, we had a squad with techies and a gary. We took gary back to main to repair some light damage it took, and we dismounted for like 5 seconds while repairing. Someone took it and left, got it destroyed.
Admins wouldnt do anything because the asset is unclaimable.
AFAIK, this is the way it is on all servers, and I think this needs to change.

From a non-admin, its understandable
But servers run this rule for several reasons, most prevalent being...
1. No micro-managing playerbase
2. Abuse of claim system
Those 2 alone eat up ALOT of game time, and create piles of unnecessary conflict between players each and every round, for admins.

This is why I prefer walking most places on the map, regardless the distance... takes a long time though.

TG doesn't allow players to steal vehicles that are in use by a squad, such as vehicles they just hopped out of, as long as the situation is clearly reported to an admin:eMeRgEnCyLeMoN wrote:First post, just because I have personal experience with this happening to me.

Re: "unclaimable" assets
Had this happen to me once that I really remember. My squad was waiting for one person to spawn near a FOB and I was driver so I got out so I could hear the others near me in mumble better. Someone came over with FOUR of us standing AROUND it and then proceeded to honk as if to 'offer' us a ride, when it was in use by our squad in the first place. He then drove to the front lines and died and claimed in chat that 'I offered you a ride'. Events such as this leave a sour taste in my mouth from certain servers.
I'm not sure where the majority of the player base comes from, but a lot of them don't seem to understand basic sharing skills which are taught at an early age. Some servers are exempt for the most part, I would have nothing but good things to say about them, others, not so much.
If you are having constant problems on a certain server, change servers. If you don't like the rules on a certain server, change servers. If the player base on a certain server does not meet your expectations, try to change it. If they don't change, change servers. Admins and server owners will change if the player base who plays on and supports the server demand it. If they don't, they can kiss their player base and server good bye.
A similar situation happened on TG a few weeks back. People were unhappy with the forums, lack of admins, rules and quite a few other things. Guess what? The rules were re-done, more admins added and forums redone. If a server, clan, or community you are involved with does not meet your standards, make it so. If you can't, leave.
Cheers.

i mostly never have to worry about ppl stealing my humvee cause when i get out it is near the front and i usually get killed before i have to get back in it the only problem i usualy get is idiots that drive past me and don't pick me up when i am trying to run from a fob the is half way across the map from the next objective a little common courtesy ccan go along way but some ppl don't seem to get that right.

Re: "unclaimable" assets
I hate most servers that don't have asset theft rules. There are too many idiots that play and don't read the manual. Most assets get wasted. I feel it organizes the server more, better teamwork and cooperation that way.
