I thought it was a good idea but then people started suggesting that we all have to use extra bandwidth to STREAM!!!! we might not have because it's capped, create more lag and listen to each others ear bleeding non-sense.

I wouldn't even like an offline system like BFV had a radio station and songs you could play.

Music annoys people and it isn't tactical :)

Then again, neither is wearing big clumsy boots that smack into everything around you and crush your garlic and herb dip when you didn't see it because your boots are so damn big. Not tactical!

Because those half hour long drives/waits are kind of boring?

Like when you're heading towards a new position and for 75% of the time you're just following the Logi truck/Humvee infront or just heading towards a marker, isn't really exciting, especially when there's no chatter.

You it be vaguely possible using the same kind of thing as the News at the bottom? Like you can press the top right hand corner to have PR Radio come on (And another option on the forums for when you're not ingame). Could give you something to do while you're waiting for some1 to get kicked from TG.

I REALLY REALLY think we shouldn't make it with live stream. Just add music packs to download! No lag! No bandwith!

Tried this with my own radio station. I've got a free, set up, internet radio station up and running. I just need to get everything for it to work. The only problem with this is....... LICENSING :D ... you need to have a license to play music over the internet and radio stations. As of now, I don't think there is any free program that lets you mix music live over the radio. I will look though. If anyone wants to actually get this going. I'll happily help out, just PM me

Ok, are you listening, ARE YOU LISTENING!!!

Don't worry about licensing, just get the station up. If i get to my proper setup again, I will be using windows media Encoder which will allow me to make a server which allows people to connect. there will only need to be a few people connected to this server however, who will, in turn, broadcast the music or news to the servers that have mumble running in conjunction with them.

The reason we should use WME is because it allows you to isolate or capture what ever part of your system that you desire. So, if you have a quiet computer (No alert noises), that is connected to somewhat of a monster of a connection (my estimation puts this around 4M/bit upload) you can have a decent server. PM me if you have such an available computer.

A repeater's computer will need no noises like the server, which can play PR (a slightly beefy rig), that is an extra or secondary rig, give me a PM so I can get in contact with you.
You need the following materials readily available to use on your secondary rig:
- mumble
- PR
- no noises
- the ability to be able to go back and forth with the computer at the ends of rounds.
If you have these things, I will only need to people with secondary, slightly beefy rigs to do the repeating.

One the server and repeaters are in place, we hack my server (legally and well within the stipulations of the Server License) so that we place those repeaters on the radios of my choosing through out the game, unhack the server and we play on, with music and news reports when we spawn back at base.

I think we should try this at least once, just to say we could and we did.

Who's with me?
