Trolling/greifing is only a problem if you make it into a problem. Kickban them for the server(s) and ignore them. Reactions is what they want, and as long as everybody gives it to them they will keep going.

People hoping in assets before you can is not necessarily intentional griefing, whether it's actually even stealing also depends on the server rules.
Intentional team killing is sadly a part of every game, although I rarely see it in PR myself.

Depends what server you join. Many of the well-adminned servers such as TG are places where it is very rare to come across idiots.
However, griefing is not really a huge problem in PR. You might see Youtube videos of griefing by spermcube, but I've never actually had it happen to me (except once, I was told I'm in one). Stupidity is more of an issue in PR because people don't take the time to read the manual or use their common sense and treat it like nilla or COD.

It's not always in the server. Every server with more than ten players has good team using mumble or VOIP or both and usually those teams play fair. Also remember if you're new here, read the manual. (I said it again)

Well, if you're from Europe, I recommend checking out the UKWF server. Most of the time, a single !r will fix any of your problems! By that, I mean, admins are very active and rarely skip out on a request.
But as my friend Elektro said -
It takes 30 seconds to warm up a choppers / jets engine. And it takes 10 seconds to be banned.

Wow, this thread got 3 pages of replies overnight, and from the general views given it seems like the griefing isn't as bad as I expected.

I was suprised how long it was, but I have actually read all of it.

Do not give them ANY attention.( those who-shall-not-be named)
But ignorance of the PR game mechanicx is far more common than outright stewpidity.

TL;DR - PR is a mod that targets a specific playerbase, as such it's unusual we come across people not of a semi-intelligent mindset.
I can personally dispute that point
I'm j.k
If you are new or unsure of the server rules ....just ask.
Yes. there people who will give you a stupid answer, but there are 30 more who will help you to get up to speed with both the current map and the game as a whole.
You should DL Mumble and start there because the better your comms w/ the team, the less foolish misunderstandings there are.
Welcome to PR, a steep learning curve but a comfortable plateau afterwards.

The biggest problem with griefers is that admins are too easy on them. Instead of banning them outright they merely get a kick. I can see how if they did not personally witness an act then they do not have the grounds to ban, but I've seen admins on different servers who disregard a ban and think a kick will stop them.

I once copped a ban from TG for using a racist slur against a guy who stole an attack hero in order to fly it into the side of an allied transport helicopter for no reason other than griefing because there wasn't room for him in an asset squad. I got off the ban eventually.
He wasn't punished at all.

I think the admin was probably more pre-occupied at the time getting rid of mini-Hitler before WWII 2 started. He must have heard about the first one and not have been keen on the prospect
Funny bit over; I'd not sound too hard done by if you were spouting racism at the time mate =P If anything, a good advertisement for the intolerance of racism in-game by server admins.

I had that before in the old trainig servers. There was this one guy on kashan that kept grabbing helicopters and tanks and flying them into/shooting at our tanks so that they were damaged to the point that they were smoking and then ble up. Somehow he didnt get a single tk but when i blew his tank up later I got a kick ban for being a TK'er and he got off with nothing bar some angry words from my squad....

banning griefers is obviously a must, banning people who make mistakes means they'll never learn
kicking is an effective technique in informing players when their ingame tactics are wrong

And they're incapable of reading chat.
I don't know what it is with most players but you can spam 'til you're blue in the face at some people to get their attention and they just don't listen.
It's very rare anyone ever needs to catch my attention, but whenever someone either calls the vehicle I'm in, the class I am, or my name (and any variant of it), my eye is drawn to the chat-text and I'm compelled to respond.

Case per case.
Sometimes they can read chat and do, but instantly (or within less than 10 seconds) get kicked as a result of ... uh... fast paced administration syndrome (FPAS). Some people have legitimate reasons, others don't, but for anyone it can be a pain in the *** to receive sudden kicks when leading a squad or manning flying assets.
Griefing isn't that common. Stupidity however...

Back on topic. Iv not seen anything I would call full blown greifing for a long time now not since the wumwuts/spermcube guy years ago. Dickheads dont last long on this game.

Not so much stupidity but people playing because they are bored, not to have fun, big difference. Its like going to a school football game and half the team plays half azzed and does stupid things no fun.
But then again its a teamgame and you need a reguar crowd for that. You cant expect the comunication between cas and groundtroops to be effective between random people.

Well, you generally won't encounter many under pc vs pc (and most of those servers have an admin present or at least around often). Training and co-op is a different story. It seems people use co-op as an excuse to be *** hats. Time of day also plays a big factor (depends on where server is located), as there are generally less morons around during school hours, after midnight, etc. (Go figure =P) Though, many of those servers now use a 3 tk kick, so only the most desperate idiots rejoin time and time again.
Assets also play another big role. Maps like Kashan Desert are breeding grounds for noobs. (anywhere there's jets and helicopters involved, idiots aren't far behind), so if you're temperamental about enjoying a game rather than making as *** out of yourself on it, I'd avoid the "24/7 Kashan" servers if I were you.
