lol and that is the real situation over in Afghanistan. there's is nothing you can realistically add that will help this map sadly. it ends in a stale mate because conventional forces cant do what conventional forces do cause we're all just gamers. assets help very little due to the terrain.

Either adding a Merlin or someother chopper that can drop crates for the britts, or a revamp of the landscape/mainbases are the best to suggestions i think i've read.

oh yeah.. eventually people will try to climb those 2 m. wide mountain roads with tanks and it will only be an asset lost.

Apache may work IF it can air borne.

I wish it would have something for the CAS role. Not an Apache, but something equivalent to the AH-6. Possibly a Lynx with a couple of rocket packs?

i'm not saying it'll be absolutely useless, i'm saying without the doing things exactly as a real military would these assets will only serve to gain minimal advantage for the team.

ahh pull the brits out of Lashkar and send in the USMC, they'll get the job done, or call in the canadians... whats needed in lashkar is less vehicles and more helicopters, deny it all you want, but the only way pass the stale mate is by being choppered in...works on Archer it'll work here, and if you want to argue about the choppers being shot down in the main, your gunna need troops to create a buffer away from the Fob which will allow the choppers some room to exit and enter the FOB

Thank all of you for the replys and good feed back on the map.


First off ive played lakshar valley over 80 times.

Ive flown the lynx about 45 times on this map. The longest i have stayed in the air with the LYNX is : 1 hour 50 Minute flight time.

As far as taking off from main it is really really easy, you have to remember its not the same main it used to be , so it doesnt get raped anymore by techs or AA, the DOME OF DEATH really put a stop to all the rape.

Stalemates are caused with caches that are in caves or on high mountain tops and these happen all the time.

These high Mountain top Caches often cause the most stalemates because the taliban will be shooting down onto brit forces coming from the bottom of the mountain.

The only way to get around these stalemates are these 2 solutions.


1. Use a LYNX or MERLIN to flank your enemy , often dropping 3 squads on 3 different flanks so they can hit the cache from 3 angles.

2. Or Use the APACHE AH64 to dominate the mountain top while friendlys move in from the bottom of mountain and have a fairly easy time with minimum resistance due to APACHE support.

I will let the Devs decide on what they want to do.

But i think we should have the LYNX and APACHE on this map, it will improve gameplay.

There are two possible outcomes here:
  • **** Taliban team vs good British team.
  • Good British team vs **** Taliban team.
In the former, the Apache will absolutely dominate with its ability to destroy caches with one hellfire, or 30mm fire. Choppers have already proven themselves as anti-cache weapons with littlebirds obliterating Ramiel and Karbala.

In the latter, the chopper will get shot down due to incompetent pilots and the Taliban bothering to get techies and SA-7s up.

Either way, if there are decent pilots in the Apache the Taliban will be absolutely destroyed. Those exposed caches on the mountaintops near the camnet structures will stand no chance, and the techies lack of ability to look up will leave only the SA-7's as the AA option, which are horrid since AA in general is stupidly underpowered.

Really? A missile which moves at a speed faster than what it ever should have is underpowered? Sure, why dont we give the AA missiles the ability to not even trigger the cockpit warning or even better just remove the flares...

AA is fine as it is imo, it's just that i suck at it. CAS on insurgency is extremely unfair in my opinion, if you have good pilots and SL'ers that laze targets the apache can remain at say 600-700ft way out of range of AA and technical fire and still lock onto lazes providing unstoppable fire support on the ground.
The taliban would be heavily outgunned and unless they had every cache underground they would be particularly screwed. CAS on insurgency is realistic but would ruin the gameplay for the insurgent team.

They Actually use the Bell 412, which is a decendant from the Huey family.

Maybe if the Lynx could have a GPMG fitted to it it might add a little towards gameplay.
