i got it to work, yay. thanks Okita. about the jump height and how long i can throw grappling hooks and grenades etc. how do i change that? can you guys help me with that as well?

About hand grenades ; I think you probably need to calculate that yourself, since I recall you need to put in a mass and velocity value for the projectile, there's no 'set grenades to fly this far' code line in Bf2

a coder should know more

Look for the Fastropes workshop thread around here, there was someone who posted several lines of code concerning the grapple hook and its stay duration, etc. Theres probably stuff you could use there, like the location of the files. Its probably in something like weapons/handheldweapons/expansionpack/grapplehook or something like that... it has a lot of its own code to edit.
Same with grenades, etc. Look for the weapons folder
But this is where youll be editing actual PR files so make sure you are running this as its own mod folder

i can find the grappling hook folder in the weapons_client.zip, but there's nothing to edit in it, theres 3 folders, meshes, sound and textures?

Hmm, I dont have my desktop down here with me so I cant tell ya. But there should be a folder somewhere that has editable files for the weapons/grapple hooks.
Ill keep looking

any advice on editing jump height?
edit: go to ea games/battlefield 2/mods/pr/objects/soldiers.server/soldiers/common/common.con and edit jump height.

is it possible to have dead bodies stay longer on the ground, so they will disappear after like 10 minutes? what value/code do i need to change for that and where is it located?

Go to your pr directory under battlefield 2 mods. Go to folder objects and open soldiers_server.zip and go to soldiers and select your faction in there you have files named like under us you have pr_us_soldier1.con and pr_us_soldier1.tweak. Open pr_us_soldier1.tweak and find these two lines
ObjectTemplate.armor.TimeToStayAsWreck 300
ObjectTemplate.armor.maxsoldierwrecktime 300.000000
change them to what ever time you want, in this case 300 means 300 seconds. I changed mine to 45 seconds on both. you have to do this for every faction and every .tweak file that there are in those folders. For me i only had to change soldier1 for every faction, as that is the only one i use for all the kits when i edited my maps.
Keep in mind if you are playing P.R. online, i strongly recommend NOT changing those lines as it may result in a map crash. As you do not have the exact same settings as the rest of the players on that server. I only play P.R. either alone in coop mode, or invite a friend over for us to play together against the computer also under coop mode.

thanks man. i appreciate it! instead of editing every soldier you can just go to ea games/battlefield 2/mods/pr/objects/soldiers.server/soldiers/common/common.con and edit it there so it applies for all.

Thanks, thats quite useful to know, especially when you doing machinimas and when you havent time to modify every single file
