For all i care just make the civi more distinctive and the insurgent faction will be grand
Just stick on this dress looking wear (don't no name) for civis as it kinda sticks out.

Anywho.. I'm sure that the Insurgents will get new texture variations when they get their own kit geometries.

you spawn in as a soldier model with a texture, the geo is for your kit. The stuff on the civilian for exaple is his texture whereas the pack he gains from picking up a blufor pic is a geo.
Sorry, I'm getting kind of confusedish..
What i meant was rather than the white shirt spawn in insurgent and the black shirt and etc, have one just have no shirt

Civis should have a bear costume.

problem is i think the skins are part of the player model, which is linked to which kit you spawn with. in other words there can only be the 6 we can spawn with. As such if we had a different skin for each one, instead of giving more diversity, we end up making it easy for Blufor to identify between kits. that then takes away from the insurgency situation where you're not supposed to be able to tell between a civy or a combatant

This is fallacious. How do the improved textures of American uniforms improve game-play? You could have the vanilla textures and game play wouldn't be affected, wouldn't that be nice? Of course not.
I also happen to think that the insurgents need improvement. They could use a couple of additional textures, which should wear clothes with more variation. I think the current textures feel a little too vanilla. I don't think its of the utmost priority, of course.

whats stopping pr from using geos that cover the entire body? thats right. i know very little about skinning or texturing. would it be too laggy?
i think i get it.... if you made it cover their body then when the blufor picked it up it would do the same... silly me.

This could be cool, but not a huge problem.

In response to Thermis because not every insurgent is walking around with a blackshirt and blue jeans on. They don't all look the same, often times they are dressed like civilians.

Right.. But this is already possible -- spawn civilian, pick-up an insurgent kit. Now you have a insurgent that looks like a civilian OR spawn as an insurgent, drop your kit, wait a couple minutes.
Now, if we had say, a system where *everyone* spawns as a civilian (creating 6 different generic civilian appearances) with a corresponding number of civilian kit geometries (6). Next include 12 additional Insurgent kit geometries (18 is the limit for kit geos.) We would then have a system where insurgents could potentially be mistaken for civilians and the opposite, requiring closer inspection by BluFor before engaging their targets.

One of the DEVs posted about how he'd like to see everyone spawn weaponless and have to pick up their kit from an armory, or weapons depot type place.
Sounds interesting..
