Tommy, I think the point you are making is that 'Hot Swappin' is an exploit of
the game mechanics?

If that is the case, then I sympathise but I do not belive it is. I do however think
that it might be detremental to TEAMPLAY. And in that case I could conceive
why some restriction might be added, to prevent 'Spamming' the kits.

However, I don't personally think this happens enough to justify a change.

More annoying from my point of view is the bobbing up and down whilst maintaining
dead on accuracy.....Now that's what I call an exploit! But that's a whole other thread!

Would this be doable in python? I don't know how python interacts with BF2 but I could assume a solution would outlined as follows.

Player press G for kit
Python is told all G press are to be delayed 10-20 seconds
Python also sends private message "Wait while you change equipment"
G press is actually sent to server and results in a pickup.

You know, you guys must like making things unrealistically hard, picking up a diffrent gun, or to a lesser extent triage bag or ammo bag would be just as easy in real life as it would be in game. In fact, with slings and dump pouches and back packs, a real soilder could probably carry two kits at the Same time, and as for swapping between HAT and medic, well if they were able to stock pile the two kits there on the point, then they would have had the time to arrange it nice and neat to hot swap in battle.

Oh and the mention of bobbing from crouch to standing while among, is totally possible, and beloved it is a part of Snap shooting, in fact, you could do it even better in real life by exposing less of your body. Same thing as leaning around corners, if you thought it was unfair ingame, well you would be dead in real life first.

:lol: you must have a very awkward keyboard!

Picking up a kit is instant in game... how you can think it similar for real soldiers is.. well just comical to me.

Dead soldiers don't tend to neatly stack their gear and have it ready for you to run past and swoop down mid stride so you can, with one hand, scoop up their gear. ;-)

Even just picking up a rifle, which requires ammo remember, would take at least a few seconds. The strap might be wrapped around the body.. the clasp for the webbing containing the ammo might be under the body requiring you to take a few seconds to sort it out. You then need to drop your own webbing....

The idea of soldiers in combat carry spare gear, as in having two sets of kits seems pretty nuts.

This suggestion is not meant to simply make life difficult.. its meant to enhance the game, stopping exploiting hot swapping kits and promoting teamwork and as mentioned greatly increase the importance of targeting important squad member.. medics, officers, specialists.. recovering such fallen members kits is not meant to be impossible.. just stopping it for being instant, which is very gamey.

Edit: Anyway.. its probably not achievable or deemed worth the time to develop :(
