One says Oorah and the other says Hooah?
But I do hope there are noticeable differences between the two.

In a few months you will know what pain feels like and be pushed beyond boundaries that you currently do not know exist. The title will not be given to you, you will have to earn it in order to be one of us. Until such point you will be a fan and a hopeful and will not understand the significance of such unless you pass the test. Ask for Parris Island even if you are geographically located elsewhere, my beloved swamp and sand is waiting for your sweat and blood.
Back OT...
I am glad that there will be a differentiation as some of the combat structure was different as well. Marines do not have medics, they have Corpsmen who are in the Navy. I believe from my reading that the SOP on patrols and unit movements were also very distinct from the US Army.

This better not end in a ARMY vs Marine BS.
Anyways the difference would be the battles like Battle of la Drang for Army. Though what about Tet offensive? Both ARMY and Marines did that.

The Tet Offensive wasn't just a single huge battle though, it was a campaign. Therefore there will be no single 'Tet Offensive' map. Hell, that would have to be a map which spanned the whole of southern Vietnam
What I presume will happen is each notable battle or skirmish will be given its own map eventually. So the USMC will maybe get a Khe Sahn map and Hue map whereas the US Army will have a map in Saigon. All of these are battles during the Tet Offensive

It would be cool if the USMC also got distinctive markings on their assets.

Since nobody really answered your question: it's sort of a half-truth. For example, at the start of WWII, the Marines were still using bolt action M1903 rifles while the front line Army units were mostly using the semi-automatic M1. It was the same way at the start of the Vietnam war with the M14 and M16, and when the M16A2 was phased in in the mid 1980s, most Marine units were still using the M16A1. Now that the Army is using mostly the M4 and the Marines are using mostly M16A4, this isn't really the case anymore. The Marines also have different requirements for certain small arms than the Army (such as for sniper rifles and shotguns), so they acquire or produce them in-house.
When it comes to vehicles, though, the Marines have almost always had different requirements, so many of their vehicles the Army never had in the first place; like the LVTP/AAV amphibious assault vehicles. Tanks have almost always been hand-me-downs or outdated; during Desert Storm only one Marine unit was equipped with the Abrams, all of them borrowed from the Army. Now the Army uses M1A2 Abrams, but still mostly M1A1 AIMs, which are the front-line Marine tanks. The Marines also equip theirs with deep water fording kits, something the Army Abrams lack. Because the Marines have a requirement to get their tanks onto landing craft, they may never have the M1A2 because of its greater weight.
The Marine Twin Huey (UH-1N) and Sea Cobra/Super Cobra (AH-1J/T/W) are other good examples of the half-truth. Though they are based on older designs, the Army Huey's and Cobras (now retired) were single engine variants whose airframes were actually older than most of their Marine counterparts still in use (since the single engine H-1s were made before the twin engine versions). The Marines made it clear that they didn't want the Blackhawk or the Apache because they take up more space on the ship's flight deck/in the hangar deck than the Huey and Cobra. With the UH-1Y and AH-1Z they are definitely not old or Army-retired aircraft and they are just as capable, and in some ways more capable, than the Blackhawk and Apache.
I hope this helps.

nice pointed out, eddie, i guess with this, you have shown to the public why you have the position of an military advisor
one thing you should have mentioned is, that the USMC has the advantage of having planes in their branch, while the Army has to call the Airforce for those jobs.
