if i remember right one megabyte is 1024 bytes but a megabit is 1000 bits, and bits is binary, i think bytes is hexadecimal.

but i know im forgetting something....

anyway, the fastest i have ever had a torrent run is 500kbps, and i normally run 1mbps - 2mb per second on flieserve, but i guess if their is a pre-realise torrent, really dose not matter to much...
Wow, you're so wrong :P

1 byte = 8 bit, that's how simple it is.

Sause fo fun: Google calculator

Besides, I don't get why people think it's so much slower with torrents than with direct downloads? Both theoretically and, at least for me practically, it's way faster than direct download.

All I got from that was:
a) More confusion
b) bits and bytes...which make me hungry for bits and bites.... Thanks -_-

Bits and Bytes - What Is the Difference Between Bits and Bytes?

Read and learn, you'll appreciate it.

Anyhow, properly set up torrent clients should download the next version quite rapidly. Make sure you find a guide to setting one up and follow the instructions, you'll appreciate it.

I'm not sure how it works overseas, but ISP's in Australia (particularly my one, Internode) have no problem hosting files upon request.
When the pre-release was out for 0.9 I requested both parts be hosted on their mirror and they were ready for download in a a couple of hours. I did this because the data from my ISP is unmetered from certain places, such as their file mirror.

When 0.95 is released, the same thing will most likely happen so just go here: Games On Net :: For all your latest Gaming News, Files, Servers & Discussion for the files on a mirror rather than a torrent.
