it seems like most of the anit-mumblers have never even used mumble do to the speculations of other anti-mumblers who also have never used mumble.

As for me, i only use it on 1 server but i wish it was more common. The benefits seriously out way the cons, considering the only con i can think of is how chatty some people get during squad assignment which - for the non mumblers - is the only time in game when everyone can hear evereyone else on their own team at the same time. (During a match you literally have to be near them to hear them)

i <3 mumble

I find it makes the game so much more fun. Plus the fact that its Directional makes it alot easier to tell who's talking, who knows the contacts, where to find friendly bodies, and not spam the whole squads hearing if we're split up

Hardest part of mumble is just setting it up. It's super easy once you figure out how to use it

Can't wait till its fully intergrated into PR. That way people who never used it will know what they missed

I like it and use it. I'm always on when playing (though sometimes it's very lonely on the channels). It's a shame that the channels are often empty on some servers. It feels stupid not being able to warn a blue guy who is about to walk into an ambush/grenade trap/assorted nastiness when they just can't hear. It's also a good way to talk with your fireteam/armor crew without clogging the squad voip with stuff that the whole squad doesn't need to know.

On the downside my sentiments are the same as all ready mentioned here. People need to stop talking about non game related stuff. As much as I enjoy talk about girls, army service, fast cars or cakes I really don't like hear about that ingame.

Guarding a FoB in Ins:

"Hey guys you remember that awesome chocolate cake yesterday? That was way good!"

"Yeah that was amazing. Never had better!"

"Could you guys be quiet and watch about, hmm?"

"Then what about the icing? just delicious."

"Truly, truly"

"Allah akbar!!!"

Kaboom!!!!!!!!!!!! Every one dead....

facepalm...

This happens with Voip too, but you get the idea.

No, its not. Your using it wrong.

I always use mumble, takes very little effort so i have it running in the background at all times.. just encase.

I would use it more often if the servers I played on made use of it.

Sadly from my experience, they don't.

To the people saying that they only don?t use it because no one else does; I always try to have it running in the background even if I see there are few people on the server using it, after all it only takes a few seconds to set up. If everyone who wanted to use mumble did this then slowly people would start seeing more and more people on mumble and be more encouraged to use it as well and there will be a lot more servers with large amounts of mumble users

I voted for because no one else uses it.

But real bad situation is, even if people uses it, its 2 channel system were you can't hear everyone indiscriminately. Totally kills the purpose of Mumble.

But I'l be more than happy to use it everytime I play PR.

I started using mumble a couple of days ago. It was a little hard to get it working.
First it didn't sync with the game, so I could hear what everyone said.
Then I got the sync right (dunno how), but I couldn't speak, it was only after I activated the *beep* when usin PTT I found out that the issue was that BF2 suppressed mumble.
Was a pretty easy fix, so now I will always use mumble and I had my first awesome round with mumble right after I got it working.

Only problem is that it's hard to adjust the sound level correctly.

To the people saying "I don't use it because no one else uses it" You are part of the problem. Wonder why they aren't using it? Probaly for the same reason, but if you all started to use it, no matter what, then alot more people would be using it.

People that say they dont care about mumble, just dont know how awesome it is.
People that say it is complicated, are just to lazy/stupid to figure it out.

Using mumble, the way it was most likely intended (ie. you and your enemy can hear each other) adds an addition in-game liability that i dont wanna deal with.
Using mumble, faction sided only, its the equivalent of a decent Teamspeak or Ventrillo server... so why should i bother?
Between BF2s Command/Squad voip, ingame chat box, and either TS or Vent, i have no need for mumble.

If you guys wanna spam music or relate false coordinates to the enemy on mumble, be my guest
You are both just... This is what happens if you have never even facking used it... Sorry.. But this pisses me off....

To those that thing that mumble is the same as Teamspeak/Ventrilo, it most emphatically is not. The fact that it has positional audio means that only people near you can hear you, and you're not being cluttered with all the talk of the 32 players on your team.

For those that want 1 channel/2 channels, that's an option dealt with by server operators. Lobby your local admins if you want it changed.

It's crashed my Pr.exe (and explorer.exe) more than once, and there's no guarantee it'll work if I keep going at it, so fuck it, until they manage more stable or foolproof versions I can manage with regular radio.

Also because we have a lot of angry people here who take not using mumble as a personal insult apparently, and to hell with them.

Well, you know, unless you're flying, then you're unlinked above a certain altitude. Or driving a fast moving vehicle, then the voices appear behind you and as such are too quiet to make out while keeping the game volume reasonable.

Or playing with a team for whom "Force Center" and "Local Speech" are bound to the same key.

Mumble's a cute gimmick with a lot of potential, but it's really not the big hooplah people are making it out to be. Nine times out of ten, any benefits in communication are canceled out by that same communication cluttering up what I could have seen or heard on my own.

Commanders and squad leader radios > 32 players on mumble.

Mumble can really be revolutionary, when you have that one perfect game with exceptional amounts of teamwork/communication that simply wouldn't be possible with another/in game VoIP, it makes all the bad experiences with it worth it.

I used to hate mumble for these reasons:

- Extra work
You have to boot it up, after you join the server you have to alt tab out and get to the correct channel and alt-tab back in.

- Extra buttons
You have to bind two new buttons to your already crowded mouse/keyboard.

Well that's it actually...so i figured i was whining about nothing and started using it.
Now my main complain is that "nobody else uses it". So i started playing on TG where at least 50% of the server is using mumble
