Yes. My Installer will put a copy of the shortcut on the desktop and start menu with a nice icon that works as you intend.

I am no longer actively developing it -- so if you know Java and you want to extend it then feel free to get in touch. I have no plans to extend or improve it myself.

...then you probably don't have to use it .

It's handy for people modding BF2. For example, you want to test your new map, but it crashes and you can't figure out why. Start BF2 with the debugger and you get a lot more error messages, things get logged, etc. If you're not modding BF2, you don't need to touch it .

Will debugger mode help in catching some of the CTD issues we've been having?

Could, but if you're already running in windowed mode, you should already get the reason why BF2 crashes (it usually displays an error message if you run BF2 in windowed mode).

And if you run the debugger, you can't join servers, only test on local.

just some extra info, i run XP, and when i installed it, i copied it on a external hard drive (mods and all.. it was over 11 GB just for the program files section) , moved it over to my new desktop and pasted it back into the same spots, and ran the cd key reg edit thingy that comes with BF2 to insert my cd key into my new registry.

Does it fix the 5-minute CTD bug?

Ah, I see. Perhaps it doesn't have the actual registration information then. I'll extend the app by giving you the option to save your BF2 path in a cookie.

When i copied the link to the shortcut on my desktop, I discover a virus 3 times right away....

I can tell you, there is no virus there, lol. It's probably your anti-virus software freaking out over nothing.

What does the debugger do? I've seen the word debugger a thousand times everywhere but still don't know what it means.

Mostly used by modders and mappers, it's to get more errormessages that are normally not displayed. It helps to discover errors and such.
