well the pr patches are 3gbish, the bf2 patches are a few gb on top too I believe.

Oh right, forgot those.

BF2 patch v1.41 is ~600mb
BF2 patch v1.5 is ~1,85gb

So, BF2 patches and PR v0.95, a lousy ~5.5gb.

I'm pretty sure we could help this guy out a lot better if we bothered reading his posts, like the one on page 1 where he says he's got BF2 fully patched.

Now stop being completely confusing and answer his questions, as opposed to those you made up in your heads. ;)

Yes, just to make it clear I do have bf2 fully patched so stop confusing me :p

Also, I've seen alot of youtube videos about PR and every time I see the western forces in squads and doing good teamwork and I see that the terrorists are always all out with no respect to their safety.

Is it always like that?

AussieGuy, the Australian PR community pretty much resides on BigD Gaming, you'll find Australian clans, events and ladder events there. Some of the PR players also play ARMA2 (few in AEF).

You can introduce yourself here, and the direct download links to the PR files [Australian mirrors can be found]:
- Internode
- Gamearena

Most Australian players are on the ball, although if you'd like to learn from people, you can't go wrong with these guys, but you'll find most people are willing to help. Remember to read the server rules (especially about text spam in-game, which can get you booted).

With all that being said, it is possible to play on American servers with ~220-300ms ping, which isn't toooooo bad, just don't expect a whole lot of wins in any fast paced CQB combat :)

-----------------

Oh and trust me when you see what the devs have managed with PR in BF2, I think you'll want to try their handy-work on ARMA2 :D

Due to the nature of the insurgents which don't have any real penalty for death (as it is meant to simulate a LOT of insurgents in the map vs a smaller blufor) and the nature of their weaponry (ambushes & CQB), you will definitely see a difference in the playstyles. Trust me though, both are fun and rewarding... and you've never experienced anything like it ;) Especially not playing against bots :P

The organization of insurgents depends a lot on the team and the server you're playing on but, as Psyrus says, they don't have any severe penalties for reckless play. In other matchups this isn't the case though.

dbzao has a lot of good gameplay videos on his youtube channel so you should definitely check those out. They are mostly from games on Tactical Gamer and using mumble, so that gameplay isn't universal though. As you're Australian you'll probably be playing on BigD, of which I can't say much from personal experience, but they seem to run a good server.

Haha, why do you want to go down under so much? Its weird weather and poor internet!

Sorry, I am asking too many questions:

1. Command and Control sounds awesome, why is it underplayed?

2. I believe in chain of command, Is their usually a chain of command in games (Commander tells SL's what to do, Sl's tell squad members what to do.)

1. The game mode is still pretty new and needs some fine tuning, should be better in .95 :)

2. Ye that's how it works if the team has a commander and the SLs are willing to listen to the commander. Not that many people play commander and even if there is a commander, no one is forced to do what he says like in r/l but if you get good commander, most SLs will follow and if you get organised games (like events) pretty much everyone will follow the commander :D
If there is no commander then squads normally work on there own or if your in a decent server with SLs using mumble, you see squads working together without a commander directing the squads :)

Sorry for double post but I have been playing BF2 lately and I have been noticing that every so often there is second or 2 when the connection has been interrupted screen comes up, even with around 60-100 ping.

It happens every so often and is annoying when aiming for shots. Help will be much appreciated.

Hm. I usually only experienced that when my computer couldn't handle something - but if you can run ArmA II, BF2 should not be a problem. Did you try several servers?
