Only depends if you are annoying or not.

There is a difference between an annoying little pre-pubescent boy and a good PR player.

If you are the former, well, here's what you do to change.

1. Relevant speaking only.
2. Don't act older then you are. Respect people older then you, then you will be respected back.
3. Think of the PR community as high school. The R-DEV's are the cool kids, and the little boys are the freshmen. Everyone else is everyone else. You will be picked on, trampled, and abused. Deal with it, and move on. If you can't handle the heat, get out of the kitchen.

Remember that the code used on games (T for teen, etc) is there for a reason. Probably the biggest mistake you did was admitting it. Annoying people are hated publicly regardless of age. However, the younger generation seem to have a higher concentration ;)

Actually I personally think its more embarrassing to play video game as adult. :(
But I play it anyway because it is so fun.
I think of Project Reality more as Simulator than game.

Just make sure you ain't annoying, and when you turn 14, you'll see... I asked people to guess my age over mic... Some of the answers I got:

"Twenty....something?"
"24"
"around 30?"
"Man...... you.... you sound old!"
Reallyyyy?? :? :

I never wouldve guessed :p

Just another tip..
Dont talk to close to the mic, and don't scream (Talk quietly, but still audiable)

I'm 17 and I'm about to turn 18 and people still call me kid. PR like every other video game has a fair share of its ********.

I don't mind because i understand what it's like, because a few years ago when i was 13 i had the same problem and most of the time i found myself being more mature than most older gamers(it was cod so that was probably why). Don't let it discourage you and prove to them that you are mature by calling out targets, not firing at everything that moves, and asking for permission to fire unless the sql said the ROE was fire at will

I respect teamwork and am a valuable squad member. Most people respect me and I have even lead a few successful squads. But as soon as an age discussion comes up, either I am kicked from a squad or everyone leaves me. Here's my question. Should I leave PR and come back in a few years? Or should I stay? Thanks, and I would really miss not checking the newsfeed first thing every day.
The guys who kick you off because you are 13 are probably just like 3 years older tops themselves.

No sarcasim. I thought you were in ur 20's

I change my opinion from before. If someone can handle watching people die around them, then PR is ok for them

I started playing Operation Flashpoint when I was 10 (I'm 19 now) and handled myself just fine (side note - OFP was my first PC game. What a jump into the deep end!). Granted, there was no VOIP, but as long as you act maturely, I don't see why there should be a problem.

Indeed. Entirely maturity. So long as you act mature, most people wont care. :D You can always join my squad so long as you're mature, usually named Foxsquad.

Im 14 (nearly 15) and I actually feel scared to talk on mic because of my voice. Its annoying because everyone thinks us are all like cod player but we're not. I'm a team player and hate sniping. You could say I like getting down and dirty ;)

I also hate people who kick younger players out, without even seeing them play first.

No, I didn't really said that to save my self from embarrassment. This is reality mod indeed. A very good one too. Nevertheless, still game. Im yet to find better war simulator. I don't know much about Arma 2 either. Simulator is something like.. Microsoft Flight Simulator is to Flight Simulator.

I guess you get kicked out most of the time since there is some kind of a cliche about the players younger than 18, which (unfortunately) comes true way to often. People don't even want to try to play with younger people since they stick to the statistics (my personal statistics have been confirmed several times now, but usually I stick with the guys in my squad and try to teach them abit instead of kicking them out so they become someone else's problem) and the statistics say: If you take a young guy in your squad, then most likely you will be missing a reliable person once you need it.

BUT there are also several older "brainiacs" who think due to their age they can play. These are actually players I kick after the first warning since they certainly won't be accessible for arguments and hints.

Young players pose some kind of threat to your squad and therefore to your enjoyment of the game (especially in this game which requires quite an amount of maturity) but one should keep in mind, that young players are also the next generation of players, which will have to teach the next young ones.

So here comes my point: A young player is not only the "threat", but more an opportunity to teach a new guy and therefore also a challenge. If you master a squad with at least one new guy and have a great game, it's way more satisfieing.

When I play with my buddies and we get a new guy in the squad, we tell him what to do and one of us always sticks with him like a personal trainer. If he ends up being a d*ck you can still kick him and the certainty you schooled someone who is now not as annoying as he might was before usually is worth the risk for me.

And nevertheless: There are these few "kids" (no offense here since they are young ^^) who play in such a way, that I can barely compare to them. I had a few rounds when I played with 2 "kids" (one as SL and the other one being the medic) who ended up being absolutely above my level. I was glad to play with them since the SL showed a level of tactical knowledge and situational awareness that impressed me and left the squad end up with no deaths in two consecutive rounds. (Must've been 2 years since that by now...)

So to everyone with a bad feeling about kids: Give 'em a try. Teach them if necessary and if nothing works out: You can still kick them right?
