Hey guys, as i stated earlier I've been having fps issues with 0.95. I recently changed my settings and seem to be getting worse performance.
Current:
Terrain: Medium
Effects: High
Geometry: High
Textures: Medium
Lighting: Medium
Dynamic Shadows: Low
Dynamic Light: Low
AA: Off
Texture Filtering: Medium
View Distance: 100%
Previous settings (0.917):
Terrain: High
Effects: High
Geometry: High
Textures: Medium
Lighting: Medium
Dynamic Shadows: Low
Dynamic Light: Low
AA: 2x
Texture Filtering: High
View Distance: 100%
With the current settings i get around 15-30 fps in fallujah, kokan, muttrah, lashkar and asad khal if i look near the center or in specific places. As with the previous settings i ran muttrah fine but the rest of the maps ran the same as they do with the current settings.
The following screens were taken on Fallujah west and Lashkar Valley.
My specs are in my signature.

I would always have 1gb of Video memory. I had trouble in .91 with my ATI Radeon 2100 712mb.

The only map I can actually play on and that was fine in 0.91 is Al Basrah.

Since I have my new PC i can play all maps very good.
However in some places or when I look in certain directions I got low fps around 28-40 fps.
I also have the X4 955 with 3.2 GHz, so it might be a cpu issue, my other specs are:
Win7 Pro 64bit
HD5830 1Gb vram
4Gb DDR3 ram
790XT gigabyte MB
graphic settings all on high, except AA on 4x. 1280x1024
I think I should run PR on at least 60fps (always have lockfps 60 anyway) and on some maps like kashan i get at least 90fps. So I doubt 30fps on some maps are "normal" with my specs....

Hmm that is strange. Ill try look to see if anyone with our CPU has similar issues.

I've noticed another issue. When using the precedent version (0.91) i could run Muttrah City with the highest resolution and video setting (everything High and Antialiasing x

with no lag and a good number of fps (around 45-50). But when I installed the latest version (0.95) i started to have some problems when looking at certain buildings, (for example the area under construction) and i have a general loss of fps. I do not know why i have these problems now because my hardware has not changed since i've installed the 0.95 version.
I've tried to uninstall the 0.95 and re-installed again. I cleared the old pr folder, now i'm going to see if there is any change.

In my case, i run the game SMOOTHLY.
min fps is around 40-50
max is 60(due to Vsync)
All settings max(8x AA all the time)
My specs:
Phenom II x4 945 @3.0GHz
4GB Ram Corsair
ATI 4870 XFX 1GB

For me, the performance is about the same as .91 Maybe slightly lower which is expected for a new release. Though, in Ramiel, i noticed some FPS drops just randomly throughout the city. And i feel like, if i take out my shotgun (as a specialist) the fps drops a bit, but switching back to main rifle makes it go up again.

I feel a game should mostly be played with 60 FPS or more.
In PR the only map where I constantly get quite high above 60 FPS is Asad Khal.
On all the other maps it's playable, sure. But I'd rather have 60 FPS rather than the 40 FPS I'm getting on most other maps in cities and combat zones. Especially Lashkar Valley and other vegetational maps with many fields and little villages with stone houses give me low FPS. Fallujah is simply the worst map FPS-wise.

You see Rykane?
Its not that our CPU is too bad for this game, this guy has a gpu and cpu with less power and ahs a minimum of 40fps (with x8 AA) and i got min of 28fps on lashkar... with 4x aa...

Never had any issue with Muttrah in .91, but now I am having massive FPS drop about ten minutes into a game (CoOp/SP).
I had just set up a forward outpost and defenses over-watching the sea side mosque. Frame rates fell off to 2-3 per sec., when I looked through the TOW at the mosque, there were about eight enemy vehicles and one hummer.
I launched the TOW and I believe it killed the missle BRDM or a regular BRDM.... frame rates returned to normal and everything ran smoothly. A few minutes later, frame rates dropped off once again (possibly when the vehicle re-spawned?).
---------------
I lowered my settings to medium/no AA (which were on all high and no AA for .91) to see if it was the issue, but no change. The freeze up occurred both times I tried the map.

I've tried multiple solutions which other people have suggested in other threads which have not worked for me. I'm beginning to think it may be my graphics card somehow.

Amd Phenom x2 dual core 3.1 GHz, 4gb ram. Radeon 4850 HD
Below 30 fps on some maps. Altering texture, lightning shadow etc quality wont increase fps. Setting a non-widescreen resolution made me gain 3-4 fps. Lowering view distance to 75% increased it alot, but you can't play blind.
Tuning up graphics processor frequency gave me an additional 0.5-1 fps
Muttrah does not lag for me though. Korengal and Fallujah are the worst. Looking towards the center of Fallujah gives me 25 fps. 28-29 on Korengal Valley. Looking away from the center increases fps to 70-80+. Another interesting thing is that if I zoom in with the scope agains the center fps increases to 60+. Zoom out again, and back to 30-
It kills the experience and ruins the game. Maybe you should lower the maximum view distance or the ammount of objects to render.

Yep.
AMD Phenom x4 920 3.1 ghz, 4 GB, HD4870 512mb.
Fallujah, the worst, and Korengal deliver a shitey performance over here too.
Asad Khal is actually the only map I can play without getting under 80/70 FPS.

Ah theres a thread on this...
See I just disconnected from Fallujah few mins ago, utterly unlplayable.. shame cuz it was a really fun map. respawned on a cache in the same building 3 times before i could lag my way out - only to get owned once more.. prolly by the same APC.
Other maps include Lashkar valey, Korengal and Kokan.. kokans not so bad but flying on it effectively doesnt happen. Iv'e yet to play Burning Sands. Prolly wont ever tbh.. sounds like a pain in the ESH
Noticed putting anistropic filtering down in nvidia CP helps a teeny bit (regarding FIELDS) but still unplayable in a few bearings on certain maps

Same here: Faluja, Mutra and most city maps, i got even 25 frames in a little bunker when i look in some directions.
Never experienced this since 0.2 ... On very different systems.
0957 has messed up something...
See my thread here:
https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f26-pr ... -hard.html
In short: Tested with all settings, drivers and dieffernt PC`s. 0.957 give 30 frames less then previous versions of PR on most city maps when you look at the occupied map areas.

I run the game maxed out that includes nvidia control panel settings. My fps never reaches below ~40 and is normally around 80/90
But i do encounter a sudden freeze every now and then. It only lasts for about a second or two and doesn't happen that often. But It might be when others crash to desktop.
Specs:
i7 860 OC ~3.2 ghz
Nvidia 285GTX 1gb
4gb ddr3 ram

again mora make a screenshot on faluja west on lan server host, spawn as insurgence at the top point gou out building and look south. You never get 40 FPS there.
I get 30 with different systems that are much better then yours.

So I spend pretty much the whole day optimizing PC, do research regarding nvidia Control Panel and the ideal settings to have in the CP for BF2/PR - Just to get maps like FallujahW working at the speeds they should be.
Started off with the research, then moved things around (ie I deleted 3 previous versions of PR totalling 6GB or so, from my hard drive to make room for a Defrag!). Did a defrag.
As advised somewhere on the forum I alter Page File to (1.5 x Amount of system RAM - in my case 3072MB and I move the PF to Drive D also. I Update nvidia drivers, (wish I hadn't now cuz its messed things completely.. nothing but ****) gave it a shot - wasn't really surprised when I saw graphic abnormalities/artifacts in the sky, that's just typical nvidia.
Maybe someone from the PR team should show those monkeys how to code.
I knew I shouldn't have updated the drivers but I did it anyway. Nice to know that I will now require an XP re-install. Thank-you nvidia.
I know its a mod and that the content is created free of charge at expense of other peoples time and that I shouldn't expect miracles but I mean I spent like what, just under two hundred pounds? on hardware to upgrade a rig that had already cost me four hundred, a rig I bought 4yrs after BF2 had been released. An engine that is almost SEVEN years OLD now and I can't even run it nicely. Someone or Something has changed since 917 and it needs to be put back as it was as I refuse to spend any more cash on a computer that does not need upgrading. I play PR and only PR, hell its the only application in my start menu bar firefox. I also certainly don't want to compromise on experience in terms of in game quality, after I know I've had no problems what-so-ever before the update. Although I do suppose its WIP...
I must've spent an hour in total staring at that bloody Optimizing Shaders quip on the load screen (after each alteration I did it for best results).
I loaded up Fallujah (online server) one last time to give it a shot. Result? no improvement. Mr. Lag had returned once more. A real disappointment cuz PRs awesome.
CREATE LOCAL games work perfectly, ie Korengal with no-one playing on it, smooth as a babies behind, 60fps Avg. the minute I play it online LAG.
I have a suspicion it's something to do with all those kits?
I love PR, finding less time to play it mind u but its the only game I enjoy on PC.
thoughts, peace x
