I find it pretty easy to read myself, yet to have problems. Agree that the text could be a light colour like red or yellow to help make it easier to see against dark backgrounds.

Agree but still very hard to read since I have to squint all the time.....Farks wrote:I think it's something you have to get used to. It's more accarute now, so I like it.

Make the lines clearer. No problem other than that.

It takes a bit longer for me too. Here are some suggestions. Make the Grid lines colored, blue or something and leave the Kpad lines the way they are.
If it is possible, have the cursor change on the map to a crosshair that casts a verical line to the boundaries of the map and an horizontal line to the boundaries of the map, if that makes any sense.
Such as this

For me, grid is perfect, no prob to see them. I like new grid because its make mortars and CAS more accurate. From my point of view, grid is perfect, but if somebody have issues with the grid, yeah, in next one you guys could make them little bit darker or lighter.

Just needs a raise in opacity for grid in the white version, and raised opacity for the labels for both.
Color will only distract and irritate.

Re: Anyone have trouble reading map grids?
Color for letters and numbers could be something easily distinguishable, like yellow or orange. I think it should be tweaked separately for every map, though. Lines of the "big grids" (not keypads) should be thicker.
It's a great change anyway. Of course takes some time to get used to, because there are more letters and numbers than there earlier was.

I think that the other grid system was very good... with well sized letters and numbers.
Now you have to take 5-6 seconds to reach the location in the minimap.....
This is intended to be more accurate or more realistic? Cause if for more accurate i think the old system was still good, and for more realistic you can set coordinates in numbers (latitude, etc).

Re: Anyone have trouble reading map grids?
More precise with more grids.
Easier to give the exact location of a building etc.
Before, the keypads were bigger and more imprecise.

The fact that N,S,E,W are not there is also bugging me. I know that is obvious the N up,S is down etc. but as English is not my native language and if I need to report something quickly, I still manage to mix up E and W. Its not a huge problem but I reckon its not a huge deal to put them there either.

They tried to make it look cool, it does. Nifty.
But it is not readable.
Just make sure the contrast to the surrounding colors is good enough cause if it's merging into, nah... :-/
Thank god I know all the stuff by a feeling, dont really have to read that stuff.

I agree, NESW should be on any map.eztonia wrote:The fact that N,S,E,W are not there is also bugging me. Re: Anyone have trouble reading map grids?
The new grid system is fine.. perhaps little tuning in colors and size. People just need to get used to it, there was a time when there wasn't a grid system with keypads in accurate sizes so you should be thanking some people instead.
Think as it in real life, it doesn't take 5 seconds for someone to call in coordinates for artillery. He needs to search too. And besides there's bigger issue's right now.

Re: Anyone have trouble reading map grids?
i really like the new grid system, because it definitely fits better into the gameplay and is far more accurate.
but like many others mentioned, it could be optimized in size, visual intensity, brightness and colors.

I like the system, but I don't understand why you changed the colours from red (A nice visible colour) to a dark grey (Invisible against the dark colour of the minimaps). Bring back the red!
