You don't have to IP ban anyone!? Just make it so that once the round has started no one can spawn in... that way even if you quit and rejoin you cant spawn again... IP banning is a bit heavy handed...
Also there would be some epic Medding going on as Medics desperately try to fight their way to a downed squad member within 5 minutes! Some prope heart wrenching stuff would be going down!
I agree though that this would have to be AAS Inf and light vehicles only... at least for the trial of the event...
Possible maps?

Imo this will only work if its Asad or another small inf map with little assets.

You don't understand the main idea, it's not gonna be like in CS for example when people spawn at the beginning only but like the regular BF. The only difference is that you will be banned when you die and the next player is coming to replace you.

I'd join an event like that.
About map, we need ***: Iron Eagle, Burning Sands, Op Baracuda? I'm not sure... we need a pole.

Yamalia would work. No heavy assets, epic teamwork and a lot of long range firefights.
Asad Khal wouldn't work. This is the map that should be avoided as much as we can or it would lead to abusable game mechanics. Not to mention bad draw distance and its size.

Just tell me when and I'll see what I can do. As for maps, I think Op. Baracuda would be fine.

Cant say I see the fun in that... You lose guys in your squad and they get kicked/banned? what are you supposed to do with the new guys that join? constantly RTB? seems like you would just end up with squads all over the place/kill any cohesion within your squad if you just get a new person joining all the time.

It's all about keeping yourself and your squadmates alive. If you can while your enemies can't you win and that is fun.

Ban is fine. It just event. Many people would be annoyed, but think about survivors. That would be outstanding feeling.
Or you can make that everybody has like 2-3 lives to make it up for random kils from textures or bad luck like mortars or jdam on your face. ;]

Anything but a Friday at least, I missed last year's D-day event with China Vs USA...I was at school and missed out on the event by an hour.

lol think of all the mutiny there will be when a squadleader orders the rest of the squad onto a high risk mission...
Is resurrections allowed?
Let's do it on Operation Archer.. Or Muttrah skirmish.... Or Kashan 16
Erhm.. who in their right mind would play as insurgents in such an event?

Commander will be giving orders to squads, squad leaders will only execute them.
Sgt. Mahi wrote:Is resurrections allowed?
Of course (if you mean reviving).
Sgt. Mahi wrote:Erhm.. who in their right mind would play as insurgents in such an event?
Playing on the insurgent side can be epic as well.

For those of you who don't know why i said ban players I'm not actually referring to banning that player specifically, but rather blocking them from coming in using a script. This is the basic idea:
The server (not an admin) will by default only allow players who have zero deaths to connect. It will constantly search for players who are dead and have not connected in the last x minutes and kick them. That way when the player goes dead they are instantly disconnected and don't have the chance to tell their squad how they died. (Kinda like IRL

)
As soon as there is an empty slot the server will only allow players who have 0 deaths to connect, if a player connects who has 1 death it will kick them like is done on TG and a few other servers to non-supporting members. If after 1 minute the server is not full after allowing only 0 death players in it should open up to 1 death players. If it is still not full after another minute it should open up to 2 death players. As soon as the server is full again it should reset to only allowing 0 death players.
With the above you should be able to keep people scared outta their mind of dying (good) but also keep the server full (good).

Some people may have duel accounts and come back in for a 2nd or more times under new names.
