Your video card is overheating. If you can run on lower settings, do so. Otherwise you will have to upgrade.

Welcome, though.

It is not necessarily an overheating graphics card, and until he ascertains whether it is... throwing money at a new graphics card would be wasteful.

First off I would suggest clearing your graphics cache in case your textures got corrupted. Download BF2Cleaner and run the 'Clear graphics cache' part. (There's an easier way without the program by deleting a folder in your MyDocs\BF2\ folder but this way is less confusing)

Also Gaspar212, are you playing on the laptop or the vista computer?

I think you should keep trying with your more powerful desktop computer. My first suggestion would be to focus on BF2 patch 1.5. I think reinstalling would be the best way.
  1. Uninstall BF2 + PR
  2. Delete the \My Documents\Battlefield 2\ folder
  3. Install BF2
  4. Install BF2 Patch 1.41
  5. Install BF2 Patch 1.5
  6. Try to log into BF2 to see if it crashes
  7. If not, install PR
  8. Try to play PR

Try having a look in

C:\Users\x\Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\0005 (Whatever one you try to login with, you see see what the profile name is in the profile.con.) Then open the video.con in that folder and check that the resolution and refresh rate are ones that are supported by your monitor.
