The maps run just fine for me, but I have issues with going prone or jumping. The first time I go prone, it works fine, but then I can't get up unless I go to a crouch, and after that, I can't go prone. It will start to do it, but then pop right back up, and the same with trying to jump up on crates, etc.
Edit: Never mind, after I cleaned about 12lbs of food out of my keyboard, it works fine, whoops.

Barentz is a good map, especially considering the time-frame that Dunem made it in. With a conversion to woodland and some more editing of the map it could be brought up to PR standards.
- One major flaw is how on both AAS/INS, the map is considerably open in the area around the Militia main, encouraging APC's to roam around and not avoid supporting cache assaults. When I played we came across random patrolling warriors which were out to go hunting, which was pointless on Insurgency.
- The far right of the map offers some awesome combat, the problem is that on AAS since the port is often the flag in play for both teams, the village/township area on the far right is usually untouched. A good alternative would be to keep the attackable flag as the abandoned ship, while the Militia's flag to defend could be the town.
- Cache placements need some serious rethinking, especially the ones in open ground

- The abandoned ship, when attacked by a low-flying apache with a |TG| crew, is literally the last mission in Black Ops

Barentz needs some polish, but could be quite easily be brought up to PR standards. It's one of the most atmospheric maps now already.

Barentz is really laggy for me. In the "heli carrier" it runs whitout any lag. But when coming to fishing port my FPS dropped below 5.

noted, there is now a lot of people unable to play map due to this, most server admins are just skipping the map.
If anyone else has this issue, please report it in the bug topic and state what graphics gpu you have. many thanks

im dissapointed that Snowstorm still has the sloshing sound effect when you walk. when you go prone, it gives you the mental picture that your clothes are getting soaked and that your going to freeze to death. snow has more of a crunch, and it would be more appropriate for it to have the gravel sound.
Barentz is beautiful, really it is. however as soon as i spawned on the boat, i knew the snow was going to be trouble. i think it looks great with the snow, but alot of machines just cant handle it. the snow covering all the vehicles look great, although that odd looking white car seems out of place without it.
Insurgeny seems a little silly. i know its an open map and theres not alot of places to hide them, but there was one that spawned right outside a building.
that and theres 2 suns. either Tatooine or Hoth, pick one.
/joke

I really like Barentz, I think it's a truly top notch map, offers great variety to PR. It needs a lot more cache locations though, and preferably ones that are a bit more defensible. Both times i played it for extended periods the british creamed the militia, 7/7 caches with hundreds of tickets left (200-400)
I didn't get to play the snow map last year (in fact, still haven't ever played OSS), but I enjoyed Northern Lights a lot more than I thought I would. For a wide open map, it is surprisingly fun to play as infantry
