You to? happened to me after i restarted my computer.

Restart was the first thing I tried and it didn't seem to work. I just came back to it next day and it was fixed.

Hey,

i have the same problem. I play PR very often but today it just isn't starting. I haven't changed anything on my pc since yesterday, so I'm quite startled that it isn't working. Any help would be very appreciated.

Mine works again. weird stuff since I did not change anything but clearing my cache (which did not have an immediate effekt)

Oh right, sweet, just in case, how do you clear the cache?

I could play PR with no serious problems. just always crashing one time between 5min and 2 hours. i tried a lot with sound/cache/video/..... and than i found another sound driver for my board... on the disk which was given away together with my mobo. its a x-fi driver.Now when i try to start PR it shows me the starting PR screen, after that when normaly the screen wents black and plays the intro, my screen just went black and stays 2 min black, and my pc crashes with a 1 sec. bluescreen and is rebooting. i disabled driver settings in windows bar right,down corner but it still crashes.
Any idea how to fix that?

Trash your BF2 cache files
Path:
C:\Users\'your user name here'\Documents\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\cache

Throw EVERYTHING inside the folder named cache away.
don't worry the files will be replaced with new ones when the game restarts.

If you still have trouble run battlefield cleaner to flush out your video cache files

Some other things you can try before you uninstall/reinstall.
Backup your BF2 folder that's inside your documents folder. Once you have a backup delete the original from your documents folder.
Try starting PR from your PR shortcut
a new default folder is created
link to your online account.
If all goes well (CTD gone) all you have to do to get your custom settings back is copy your 'control' file from your backup to the new profile folder.
path:
C:\Users\your user name here\Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\0002
note: you may not have a 0002 folder so use 0001

i googled my bluescreen and i found that the missing via hd audio driver is the problem... when i reinstall it bluescreen is gone, but my 2 audio drivers dont work together... no sourround.... only stereo... you know how to fix that? maybe prority for one driver?
