haha :) funny to read.

i always thought i have to aim in front of the target, too.

but the truth is: You only have to aim in front with a sniper rifle (and probably the marksman)
one guy running to the side 300m away. aimed directly on the model, shot, and kill.
Youll believe me if you watch a demo in slow motion, cause its just like in UT99 ASMD Shock Rifle, youll see the impact and some time after that, you see the tracer coming.
believe me.

Leading a target is not much of an issue when operating at a sqaud level since the sheer firepower your sqaud packs is enough to bring the guy down.

270M?? What is this, the 1700's?!! Snipers in the Civil War can hit targets from 900m away (General John Sedgewick's ironic quote "they can't hit an elephant at this distance" and got killed immediately from confederate sharpshooters 900m away).
Lets see, according to NATO the maximum effective range of point target, which is the distance a rifle can hit a human size target 50% of the time, for the M-4 Carbine 14.5" is 500m. The absolute effective range, the distance which the bullet goes under 85J, which is the energy needed to penetrate an unarmored target, is 3600m. But the point i'm trying to make is that ~300m shouldn't be that hard to hit, especially at a stationary target with full torso exposed. I mean I have an 4x ACOG scope, the dude on Future Weapons hit a 300m 10" diameter target with a TAR-21 non zoomed MARS sight. In one shot.

On the subject of range and scale, guys, how much does the size/resolution of your monitor make a difference?

I have a 24" monitor and pull it right up to me.. I get frustrated at not being able to kill targets who appear within view distance (and thick M-16 ironsights), but in reality i might just be looking at the tiny circle in the middle.

That said though, 300m away things do look VERY far, even on a big monitor.

Edit: My perception of people 1 mile away in RL is the same as my perception of people 300m away in PR. Just had a looksie.

thats all an issue of viewdistance and render range...

Scaling is really weird. I was playing as sniper today, and people ~300m looked only a tiny bit smaller than someone ~450m away. Lets say they both died.

In most games you just learn the feeling. In PR just shoot a littlebit infront of the enemy, you will se the first hit make some dust. But its realistic and fun to have that obstacle
