Grenades having louder sound when hitting an object

Though in PR, in most situations a grenade will land on grass, dirt or sand, and I doubt that's too loud of a sound IRL. The sound of throwing an object against a metal object already is quite loud.

I just tried dropping a 1 pound weight and it makes quite a thump sound regardless of what it's dropped on. I can imagine it being much more audible if I actually threw it at something.
