... And make a big hole on top of that apc so enemy can throw in grenades trough it and so our soldiers have no cover when attacked from above :D

Old-school!

Being PR's self-appointed faction-design guru, I find having one faction (the MEC) with two .50 cal APCs (the MT-LB NSVT and BTR-60) to be un-cool (don't me ask why, I just do) ;)

Leaning back in Samogon's direction, you could go for the 70 model for the Militia and the 60 for the ARF, thing as I don't think the 70's used in Africa a lot.

The BTR-60 and MTLB-50cal don't share the same weapon at all, in fact they are quite different, the KPVT using armor piercing rounds for one.

The exact reason the MTLB's are so successful as it gives the mapmaker much more room to breath when sorting out GPO's for Russians and MEC. Hauteclocque and SGT.Doctor already decided on using the BTR-60 for the ARF and its already been re-textured for the African environment. Its pointless adding in more variations on it when the BTR-60 with KPVT turret is the main one used worldwide.

BTR use KPVT with 14.5x115mm round.Russian .50 cal is 12.7x108mm.

BTR-60P and PA very rare cuz its makes only for Soviet army.And they don't use DShK,they use 7.62mm MGs(DShK - for demonstrations :razz: )

UVs.Actually it's my bad side,don't like them.If anyone can - help with it please.
Gun tower and wheels got diffirent textures cuz they could be use on my another projects in future(BRDM2 and BTR70(Wheels only))

Having this on 3 maps is going too be far too heavy on performance for what it is imo. That is like 6 maps for one object (with normal, + spec if you use one).

You can space loads of stuff out way more also.

Hm,M16 got 3-5 textures as yo can see on files.I think not to much needed to make normal for turret an wheel.Also - wheels and cannon should be use at BRDM2(One of my future projects,they use same wheels and turret) whats make more optimize,if they plased at one map.

oh yeah - textures should be scale down to 1024^2 and 512^2

Wheels in my opinion would be one the most important places for a normal to be used in making the tyre treads look convincing.

But then you are going to have to cut the BRDM2 into multiple maps again. Even if you have some vehicles sharing 1-2 of the 3 maps, imo its still going to be a lot more heavy on performance than simply having 1 1024^2 for each vehicle.



But that is just my opinion, I am sure a dev will give a answer on which way to do it at some point.

So I think Normal no needed,because it's don't looks to much in BF2 engine,I never saw Bump maked details,thats in ARMA2 where it's really visible.
Actually BTR80 got 8 maps(6 using) -Body(N&C),Turret(N&C),80A turret(N&C) and Wheels(N&C)

УРААААААААААА! The BRDM2, that's gonna be epic and very good choice IMO. The actual ingame model is not that good and many factions are using it. I even read the Polish army is still using them?
My plan is to make some GAZ vehicles - BRDM-2 and other versions,BTR-60 ACV and APC,BTR-70 APC and may be BTR-70M if its possible.Also I got some non ended projects like mortar and MG3 tripod.Thats why they should it's coming to be long project.

P.S R-DEVs got diffirent plans about BRDM-2 and BTR-60.

I'm pretty sure 60s are on Muttrah. If not, that means nobody is using the 60 except the unreleased ARF. Oh, and nice camo up there by the way. Sharp.

PS - The KPVT isn't all that different from a .50 cal in terms of power... I don't know... And Samogon, don't do anything that would take too much time to change before Noserfatu returns, you don't want to be making the model/texture twice.

It looks good, but in my experience lot's of mud and dirt in the texture doesn't look too good in-game. I think it's better crisper like in that picture of the Iranian model above... Talk to Rhino I 'spose.
