Re: I am a NooB :S ?? -- Normal TK behaviour??
I killed a friendly apc once it was damaged bad I think, so when an RPG i launched hit the road it blew up by the small damage that gave. Misunderstandings happens with the quick reaction in a tank and even if most of the vets possibly denies it they also fucks things up.
the two players that harassed you after is the noobs and no most of the community isnt like that.

I found this sentence quite funny and since this is a war game forum I will put it here. No offense to the french just a good laugh.

I have no problem admitting it, but i have no plans to make it a habit, anyway its great to see that i am not the only one here that can admitt mistakesPLODDITHANLEY wrote:Thumbs up for admitting in public... Hello I am Therran and I TK tanks.....

Thanks for that, to be honest one of the reasons for this thread was because i had no idea how the system works or if this is normal behaviour online, I know there is all kinds of people online, and might be that i happend to blow up the wrong peopleMellanbror wrote:Or report stalker to admin. I fired on 3 friendly tanks in the same battle once.
In fairness, it was vehicle warfare, and thermals are hard!

Give the man a break, seriously... We've all made noob mistakes and we will continue to do them from time to time.
If it was indeed a mistake then a simple sorry and maybe an explanation will suffice but, ask yourself this... is it worth having two retards stalk you the rest of the game and annoy you? I would just switch servers, but that's just me
I'd be pretty pissed off too but a simple sorry goes a long way and about 5 min of recon or something else is good enough time to cool off.

My point is we all had noob mistakes. i been playing since 0.80v and still make thoses little noob mistakes, like driving near enemy mines while im stuffing my face with food.
In all just forget it and ignore them, if you want me to teach you the basics just PM and ill tell you how to use all the vehicles and air assets :3

Re: I am a NooB :S ?? -- Normal TK behaviour??
1. No, I would say that this is definitely not normal.Therran wrote:The BIG question in this case is that i was beeing stalked a whole map rotation for this one mistake, is this normal? and is that acceptable? what if it happend to you??
2. No I personally don't think this is acceptable.
3. If your situation happened to me I would probably just ignore him. If his situation happened then I would probably be mad until you apologized then just forget it. (in fact I know that's what I would do cuz it's happened before)
Does this answer your questions seeing as no one else seems to want to?

If you're being stalked/harassed report to a server admin, and if there is none around then TK till you get kicked and find a server with an admin to find some peace.
Everyone TKs, some are more spectacularly fail then others but the typical asset whore reaction is to flame and/or rage quit. These guys probably deserved the TK in the first place xD

Re: I am a NooB :S ?? -- Normal TK behaviour??
I'll weigh in, sure why not.
Therren, you need to remember one very important fact. A tank in PR is worth 24 tickets and 20 minutes of lost time. Because you didn't verify your target you put a signifigant dent in your team, and ruined an armor whores night, if they were working as part of a platoon even worse because now they've got a hole in their formation that is not easy to fill. When you're killed in a tank, it is a very frustrating thing because often times you've got little to no warning. Also, when you lose a tank, you feel you've let your team down by losing an asset that important, and when you're teamkilled you get very angry because now people will think you wasted the asset despite the fact someone on your own team messed up.
That being said, if it were me who got TK'd, I'd be pissed, and no one can blame the tank crew for being a little rude on the offset. But following you around the whole night is just too far. Sure, you fucked up bad, but it's a game, and I bet you'll never make that mistake again
So in short, it's normal to take a little abuse for something like that, but not the whole night. It's not acceptable, because lets face it, everybody fucks up every so often. Hell, some of my very best shots in PR have been headshots against Scot when he's on my team. If I got TK'd by you, i'd be pissed, I'd probably yell at you and odds are I wouldn't want to be anywhere near you for the rest of the map, but stalking, hell no. And if it was me who did the TKing? Trick question, it wouldn't be me doing the TKing, I used to drill NATO in the PRT, I know the silhouettes of those vehicles better than most of the Dev team
Chin up, learn and move on and ignore the idiots who take the game too seriously. The fact you're up front and open about it says good things about you as a player.

Just to correct this bit, tanks have been worth 10 tickets for a while now, and if I've understood the mechanics correctly, the crewmen dying without being wounded first cost a single ticket each bringing the total to 12-13.Tirak wrote:A tank in PR is worth 24 tickets
Sure enough the team is deprived of an asset for a while, but at least it doesn't cost them any more than a full infantry squad going wounded and then giving up.

Team-killed a friendly Bradley with an SRAW about a year ago. I have never made a mistake as big as that since, because I actually take the time to check if something is friendly, its easy as piss to check the map and if you know the map, you can know EXACTLY where you are looking at at any given moment.[R-COM]Robbi wrote:I think he is more bothered about the fact that the two tards followed him around all night and gave him shit, this to me is not worthy punishment for anything.
dtacs and cyber, although I realise you are both highly skilled PR players I doubt you can honestly say you have never made a massive noob mistake in all your years of PR playingGive the guy a break.
But of course this guy says he is new to PR, so he is automatically forgiven. If any form of teamkilling becomes repetitive irrespective of how long hes been playing, then its clearly his fault.

Want a medal?dtacs wrote:because I actually take the time to check if something is friendly
Getting teamkilled in a vehicle pisses me off a lot less than getting teamkilled as infantry just because someone doesn't want to turn their thermals off for a second/recognize the uniform/check if the guy he just shot was friendly before firing. Vehicle recognition is a very useful skill though (some of my friends tend to rely on me for that

Re: I am a NooB :S ?? -- Normal TK behaviour??
Sorry that this happened and yea in the past i have put the Missile in the wrong bit of armour and got the shite for it, but i think why some people are giving you lip is the way your putting yourself across, the anime picture and the writing with 'NOOB', the title and general conversation its hard to tell if you shot the guy because he was the closest thing to shoot or if you shot him in an 'ACCIDENT' which can happen.Therran wrote:Hi everyone, thanks for the feedback so far,
To clearify things a little better i was playing the Kashan desert map and was close to the MEC base, honestly speaking i could not distinguish between friend or foe, it was tanks all over, and i was one of them, and of course i appologiced.. several times.
But as Robbi is saying, this is more about the punishing part, to be realistic, i made a MISTAKE and it was an ACCIDENT, ask yourself, what would you do? let it pass, or spend your whole night stalking a Noob for a mistake? I know what i would have done...
In this case there was three loosers in the end of the night, instead of three winners, wich to me is the only way to play a game, no matter my level of experience..
The BIG question in this case is that i was beeing stalked a whole map rotation for this one mistake, is this normal? and is that acceptable? what if it happend to you??

The idea's the same though, you've lost a full infantry squad in the two seconds you didn't take to verify the target, and all the other points still stand. So seriously people, check your targets. Easy way to tell, if it's boxy it's blufor, if it's round it's opfor.

Re: I am a NooB :S ?? -- Normal TK behaviour??
That might be so, however I chose to see this incident with a little bit humor, I asked a simple question about behaviour, i got the answer, and i dont feel any need to explain or defend myself in anyway.Shots1721 wrote:but i think why some people are giving you lip is the way your putting yourself across, the anime picture and the writing with 'NOOB', the title and general conversation its hard to tell if you shot the guy because he was the closest thing to shoot or if you shot him in an 'ACCIDENT' which can happen.
If anyone chose to to change the subject of this thread it is their choice, but like you, and everyone else, i did a mistake, noone will ever convince me that this kind of behaviour is acceptable - here or anywhere else, and i know that everyone agree with me in this regard.
What surprise me most is the sensibility of this matter.

It was a big deal because tanks take like 20 minutes to spawn, but that person way way overacted.

Let's not go that far... After 10 rounds of Jose Cuervo you may be surprised how difficult taking a piss can bedtacs wrote:Team-killed a friendly Bradley with an SRAW about a year ago.
