+1 yellow thumb on this behalf!
Since i started PR I like to play the role myself if there is some common sense inside the squad's leader and members. You can make yourself very useful to the Team/Squad even if you are not that familiar yet with the "fighting-part" in PR. If you do it right everybody is happy with you and your name will show up in the top ten ALMOST EVERY game - which is a big boost for new players as some sort of positive feedback and even most of the "Pros" are bragging about the scoreboard via mumble between rounds.
A buddy of mine and me often play as a 2-men-support-squad (Checking the situation of other squads, flank their enemies if necessary, etc.). Since he and even me are still kinda new (learning more every day!) we like playing like that from time to time to get more of our "buddy-tactics" to work sorta automatically so if we join a squad we can (try) to bring those tactics with us therefore being more effective.
I mean stuff like "he covers, i nade a room and he can instantly get in there (after the detonation of course

) and kill the shocked enemy sitting inside" or "one (often me with the SL-kit) covers the other clearing an building held by enemy (he is a killer with the red-dotted medic-kits)" or "one gets shot down the other epipens him, drops the kit, the other one hits "G" so he can cover the other one healing himself" and so on...
When we play together (even if i lead a full squad) he is my 2nd man! If i go down or just can't concentrate on the situation (mumble SL-channel stuff, girlfriend phone calls, etc.) my medic becomes the leader of the gang.
Sometimes it happens that after a fight i want to keep the pace and keep pressing forward but then he is like: "Negative, let me try to get these teammates up first!" - and I have to agree..because that is what I "told" him to do in PR - TEAMPLAY, not "just" Squadplay.
We are having another buddy getting sucked into PRuniverse with the same mentality - wonderful to see that happen!
BUT
Lots of the time the before mentioned blue guys gave up instantly after they (all) died even if we are still there, engaging and trying to clear the area and stuff. Why does this happen? Maybe because often the other squad leaders wont let their medics cross one street, get around one other corner, go back 10 meters, etc. to safe the blue ones really needing a medic over there. So they don't expect us to try to help them. Great WHEN it works out well - everybody happy! Idk, all I wanna say:
Squad-Leaders, get yourself the "best" man in the squad to take the medic kit and tell him to keep you updated about dying people around the map - big pile of intel/information right there - for free! and let him make reasonable decisions on his own (with him telling you about it is "da sheet"

)
kind regards,
KiloJules
